SERIOUSLY....THIS IS MY CRAFT ROOM--HELP

Really, these are photos of my room :)

I have a huge smile on my face when I see the redo's of your craft rooms. Mine is a total room in the works. The only good thing is the size, and I do have electricity and some shelves. It's fast becoming a junk room. Since we are a year behind in our projects, I'm hoping that maybe this winter I'll have some "Atfer" pics for you. If anyone has some ideas, please share them with me. Too bad you can't send me your old craft rooms through the blog. That would make it SO easy for me. Of course, half the fun is getting ideas, paint sample, etc. I hope no one was hurt when they viewed the photos. LOL. When I do make cards, I usually do it on the dining room table where there is Lots of light. Don't feel bad for me....it will get done and be alot nicer when it's finished. Have a great weekend. I'm thinking a couple of estate sales are calling my name. :)
Happy treasure hunting too. Don't forget your ideas. Warmly, Deb

Oh, honey, are we soul sisters or what? A while back I posted about my "craft/sewing room". I now have to sew in the dining room b/c there's no room in the craft room!
Lucky you to have a basement. I'm stuck in a small bedroom, but I am thankful. I'll be watching for an update. Luv, Nerm

There are so many possibilities! You're so lucky to have a room just for crafts n' things. One idea that I have is putting up peg board there are so many baskets and things you could hang to organize with. It CAN be cute, you can paint it and make it cute. I love talking with you! God Bless!

You know one really fun thing you have to look forward to is going through everything and finding things you forgot you have. It's almost like getting little hidden gifts all day!

I look at my garage that is so full of stuff and dread starting on it. But I started to go through a few boxes and found stuff I forgot I even had. I was having so much fun I didn't want to stop.

So remember, it's all how we look at things in life. Look for the good even when it seems bad at the time.

Hugs,
Joanne

Hi Deb...

WOW, a whole SPACE for a craft/sewing room? WOW!!

The only space I have is Tom's and my office...which has 2 computers. So, I have to be super organized ~ which I don't find too hard.

What you need to do first is SORT through everything. Have a TOSS pile...a DONATE pile and a KEEP pile. Get rid of the TOSS and DONATE STUFF RIGHT AWAY! After you sort and get rid of stuff...you then sort by category, your KEEP pile.

You'll need something to hold each category...little boxes that stack, baskets, stacking compartmentalized containers...anything that helps organize your "categories". Then, shelves or racks to organize and hold all that STUFF! Remember, to have a couple of bins/shelves/baskets in which to store your current projects when you leave your space.

You need to have a LARGE, non-cluttered work area...or none of this will work.

Paint everything a cheerful color and decorate til your heart's content. Then enjoy!

Remember, once it's cleaned up and arranged...NEVER leave your room in a mess...always put everything away...including your current projects.

~Blessings,
Jan

Deb...oh, I envy you!!! My work space right now is the garage and its a total wreck!! Since we just moved in April, everyone just threw stuff in the garage and that leaves me to organize and put stuff away so I can work. So, now I'm doing things on the kitchen table...and the light in there is horrible.

I wish I lived closer so we could work on yours...then come work on mine...lol.

Michele

HAHA!!! Now I feel better! My room is a mish mash of everything right now...I have to step over things and haul everything downstairs to work on something! BUT this fall hubby is taking vacation time to do my room up for me! (I would but for health reasons cannot). Any way...hope you had fun at the estate sales and found some wonderful treasures!
Have a great day!

Just thought I'd show you my "before": http://oldtimemeartist.blogspot.com/2008/01/my-workroom-warning-wear-protective.html

I blogged it several months ago. It looks a LITTLE better now but not by much. Thing is, it will look good for, say an hour or so - until I dive into a project, anyway. During and after the project? It's back to "normal". Think of it this way: You can't create in a vacuum. At least, that's my excuse, ahem, story - and I'm sticking to it. LOL!

Hi Deb... Sounds like you have alot of good ideas from your blogging friends! I am not fortunate enough for a craft room... I live out of bags when it comes to crafts... so I sadly do not have any suggestions for you. I bet that you will have a fun time pulling it all together, though, and I look forward to seeing your pics!

Sounds like you have a FUN weekend ahead of you... do enjoy and be safe... and, please stop by for a visit sometime!

Here's another soul sister!!!!! No more room for ME in the craft room --- or ANY room in my house!!!! It's taken over everywhere. I'm just so glad that there are others in the world like me. I keep saying "someday". . . . ????? But I love my stuff, I know where it all is, and every bit of it is necessary for what I like to do! And when I do "clean it up" somewhat, I can't find a thing!

Thanks for the smile today!

Well I thought I was looking at my craft room ! Did you sneak over here and take mine ? hehehehe just kidding you . Seriously , my hubby built me a garage for my own use . I had it fixed up so nice and then one of my sons bought a 4 wheeler and wanted to park it in the garage so no one would steal it! He just lives down the street from us. Convenient huh? Then my hubby bought a vintage pickup truck and said it can't stay out in the elements, so you guessed it honey. Now it's in there.
And you know where my stuff is ? All piled up down the middle of the garage and around the wall.I can't get to anything ! G-r-r-r-r !

Well you get the ideal, I am so frustrated !

I just moved into a 3 bedroom house... the first time ever living alone. I now have two spare rooms; one for all my yardsale treasures, the other is my 'workspace'. I so need to get it all organized though!

I just received this book and it is so awesome! It has so many photos of women's creative spaces. Buy it, I'm sure you'll love it just as much as me.
