This chair was bought at an estate sale a few years ago. It's awesome. As you can see, the back is tilted. It is comfortable. The dog heads are very detailed. The story is: I saw one like this before we bought this one. I thought "How Cool" and that was that. The SECOND time we saw one, again at an estate sale,I said..I WANT IT. Husband said "let's leave a bid". I said, "it will be sold".

Sure enough, sold...NOT TO ME.

Third time, reading the paper to see what items were going to be at an estate sale..it had a DOG CHAIR. Well, we were up early, got good numbers, I asked before they opened the doors "where is the Dog Chair" , they said "living room". As soon as my number was called I RAN to that CHAIR and sat my BUTT down and said....MINE....SOLD.....That's my story and I'm stickin to IT. How else has a story about a treasure they wanted and waited and then received?? I guess God's timing is Best.

Just hope that when I'm dead, the "kids" don't throw it away or sell it for $10.00. I better leave them a note. :) Thanks for visiting. Thanks for letting me babble tonight. Warmly, Deb

Now you know what is special to us is probably just plain horrible to our kids, right? I love your dog chair and I hope it doesn't go to a doggie death one day. That would be such a shame!

I've never seen one of those - how cool! About 15 years ago I had some gorgeous needlepoint chairs with cane backs. I didn't think they were terribly gorgeous at the time - I was a single mom and it was all I could afford (FREE from a friend). When I met my current husband and we decided to get married, I sent the chairs on to my sister and when she was short on cash she sold them in a garage sale. I don't blame her b/c we do what we have to in order to feed the kids, right/! But... wish I still had them ;) Blessings... Polly p.s. praise God that your daughter wasn't hurt!

I've never seen one like it.
I have been trying to educate my son about the pieces I have in the house, so when I am dead, he may be able to make a little money off me, hehehe.

Leave a book maybe of things and why they should not give it away.

Girl, that is one awesome chair, and to think you now have two! Wonderful! I adore dog things, don't know if you ever saw my magazine spread in Country Sampler back in April of this year, but I have a dog powder room and a cabinet in my hall with dog collectables! What a fun chair to have, from the looks of your return address label you love them as much as I do! I knew you were a great gal...:)!!!

The only thing cuter than that dog chair is your story behind it!! LOL You had better tell the kids, that would be a shame! (of course, you could give it to me and then you wouldn't have to worry about it, LOL!!)

I have never seen a dog chair before--it's really cool!

Smiles, Karen

Hi Deb... How wonderful that you have such a unique chair! Just love the story behind obtaining it, too! I have an idea to perhaps "save" your awesome dog chair from an unwanted demise... print off this post, write a letter to "whom it may concern" explaining your wishes for the chair after you're "gone", put both in an envelope & seal it, place envelope in a paper lunch bag & seal it, use safety pins to attach the "bag of your wishes" to the underneath side of your chair... Taaa~Daaa! My Mom left lil notes under things and behind frames... anyway, just an idea...

I sure have been enjoying your blog and if you do not object, I'd like very much to add you to my favorites... hope your day is a beautiful one, Deb...
