This is Jackson Brown sucking on his woolie bed. He does this all the time. :) See his paw, he has allergies, poor little guy. I was asked what breed Jackson Brown is, all of our dogs are Jack Russell Terriers. We have had Jacks since 1994.
These items are all from the thrift store. The candle holder was green and I sprayed painted white. Cost $1.69 for the candle holder. The 2 candle rings with silver balls, 69 cents each, the white and green glass balls, pennies, already had the white candles...

so the complete project under $4.50 :) That was fun. I was going to sell it at the booth....

But, Not Now.

My question to you is: How much time do you spend blogging??? Do you make a daily post??
How many blogs do you read??? Do you leave comments?? Just wondering!!!
My friend, Brook, from The House Built with Love has decided to stop blogging. I went to her post the other day and she was GONE. I emailed her and she wants to spend more time with her family and in God's word. So, that got me to thinking...just how much time do I spend blogging when MAYBE, I should be doing other things??!!I also noticed the LeAnn at Simply Dandy blog is also gone. I just wish the gals would say Good Bye first as my little mind thinks something awful has happened, which isn't the case. My imagination is wild. Once, again, Have a great weekend and don't forget to read the post below. Warmly, Deb

I try to blog as often as I have time for, at least 3-4 times a week. I read blogs daily, probably spend too much time doing so. I love the blogging community and think it is a great social network. Everyone is so talented and supportive. I do leave comments if I have something to say, sometimes I just read and go on to the next one. I love to get comments so I try to leave them as often as possible. My friends and family back in CA get worried if I do not blog for a couple of days, so it is a great way for them to see what we are up to on the east coast! Your dog is too cute:))

Hi Deb! I have cut way back on the blogging. I visit my absolute favs everyday and catch up here and there with everyone else. I try to leave comments if there's time. I just don't have enough info to share to post every day. I just hope everyone still stops by when I actually do post again.

Have a great weekend!

First I love your candle holder. You did a wonderful job!!
And now for the blogging thing. I try to keep it down but usually don't succeed. I and trying to post 3 or 4 times a week. I read some everyday and leave comments most of the time because I love them too!! I always leave comments on people like you but I do visit some that have never visted so I usually don't unless I really have something to say. And yes I spend way too much time doing this. My house is not as clean and I don't do as many other things as I used to. I don't know that I would give it up but I'm trying to keep it manageable. Like when I get home from work I'm not allowed to turn on the computer until things are done for the evening. Right now I'm cheating at work. I know BAD!! I don't usually comment from work though. Good grief this is getting too long so I hope that answers your question. It does take a lot of time though but there are so many wonderful people who I have grown to love and I look forward to reading.

I blog once or twice aweek. I'm home a lot so I look at it as window shopping. I try not to let it get a hold of me. If that makes sense. Plus I can try to spread hope to people. Everyone needs hope! Blessings, Denise

I started blogging in September. I love it. I may have been to your site before, but have just found it again. I love it and will come back often. I have lots of your old posts to look at. I also love going to yard sales and thrift stores. I've cut back on my buying lately, because I've run out of room. On my site you will find some of my favorite finds. Oh, and I do like leaving comments.

Your candleholder looks amazing!!! It's gorgeous...and for only $4.50?!?! WOW!!

About blogging...since I don't work outside the house and gave up selling on eBAY (40-60 hours a week)...goodness knows, I have MANY jobs inside the house! LOL!!...I blog. It hasn't interfered with all the other things I have to do. It's been what I do when I am not capable of getting around (like the past 3 weeks after the lawn tractor incident). I love the friendships and the support and motivation I get and seem to be able to give to others.

I post nearly EVERY day! I leave comments when I have something to say...not just HI, nice to see you! And, I visit my FAVS as they come up on my blogroll as having posted something.

And...I love sharing God's word right here...on our blog. I do that on Tuesdays on Come to Jesus and Pray. I'm able to share a section of a long devotional study each week...and post a prayer list of other bloggers needing prayer.

Tom has even come to know some of my bloggy friends...just cuz I talk about them so often!! LOL!

I enjoy sharing my love of Interior Design and Tea Parties...amongst other things with everyone...too.

ps...I don't know how much time per day I spend blogging...but it's my "fun" thing I do.

Well, I have only been blogging for a little over a year. I DO spend a lot of time reading blogs. I love it too much, I guess.

I, on the other hand, have been enriched by reading blogs, as I have found many who teach me more of what I want to know. I am getting deeper and deeper into God's word. Just to read my bible does not do it the way reading a blog and having someone make it 'live' makes all the difference.

I also have made friends, some who I have personally met, and many who I will never meet, but they still have attached themselves to my heart.

I also am a 'junking girl', and I have found you, and others who love thrift stores, and I also like decorating and quilting blogs. Blogs are wonderful for capturing ideas and making new friends.

I'm sorry you lost some of your blogging friends. I don't have children to tend to, so more time is mine, after a long day at work. Reading blogs is my relaxation. As for posting, I don't do it enough. Seems lately, I get one or a few on the weekends, but not many in between.

If you love blogging, please continue. There are many blogs I read, but don't comment, and I know I should. I wish all who visit my blog would comment, but sometimes, there just isn't anything anyone can comment to. My list of reads gets longer and longer, and if I ever want to get out of my chair, I have to eliminate some, as I always find new ones that interest me. Do you do that too?

Keep blogging. I'm reading!

I try to post daily, but as of late maybe not every day but every other day. I look at my favorites and comment if I find I'l like to. Sometimes I spend more hours then I should, but I enjoy it.

I get other things done.
As for those who leave and never say goodbye, they have left before some of them numerous times. LeAnn has done it at least 3 times. Don't have an answer as to why.

But, if I decided to quit I would say goodbye and not do it without people knowing.

It's fun to do, but be real and do it as you think you should, there are no rules in blogging and it's to each their own. But if you decide you need a break it's nice to be informed otherwise we do what you do we think the worst.

I'm on here everyday, sometimes for hours. Beats watching CNN and CNBC with my hubby. We retired and he helps me keep the house clean, for the most part. So I have time. I love it , I love seeing what other people are making or how they are decorating their home or making projects.Of course, I've not been doing this too long either.LOL

Hi Deb:

I love to blog but dont make it a top priority in my life. My priorities are God, my children, my home and making a new life for myself. I have to say, I dont understand how some women find blogging to be a distraction when you can get up at anytime and do what you need to do as long as you have your heart in the right place. Blogging should be a "happy time" not a difficult time....that is my take on it and it is from the heart.

Like many others, I try to visit my favorites (you're one of 'em girly!)whenever they post something new and I try to always leave comments. Blogging for me is "my time" to connect with other wonderful, christian women. I try to post at least every other day if not daily. I think there are many things that people can do obsessively, everything should be done in moderation. God, family and their needs, then blogging right:) Something as simple as cleaning your house could be put before God. We just have to put our lives into priority and not feel guilt when we do things for ourselves sometimes. I think it keeps us moderation of course! God Bless!

Yours is one I am following along with many others. I am another one who keeps finding interesting blogs to follow. It can get time consuming trying to read all of them and comment too. I try to comment most of the time. I especially comment on ones that don't seem to get many comments. It is fun to meet new people and see what they do in their homes and for craft projects. I find it motivates me to get a move on my stuff. I blog when I have something to blog about. So it is not always everyday. Also reading blogs is way cheaper than buying a bunch of craft and decorating magazines, which I used to do a lot of before the world of computers and the internet. Also a good way for long distance friends and relatives to keep in touch in a fun way.

Deb, I know exactly what you mean! I hate to tune in a blog and the gal says, It's been fun, but . . . I guess I am too attached to all my blogging friends to do that. I spend about an hour reading blogs in the mornings cause that's when I have the most 'free' time. We post 3 or 4 times a week and Lindsey never complains about the time it takes. She is pretty quick. I do like to leave comments because I like to converse with them and let them know their efforts were appreciated. I see this blog phenomonon as a way for women to encourage and help other women so I don't see it as being a bother or too time consuming. Have a wonderful weekend, Deb! Twyla

I probably spend an hour a day maybe four days a week blogging. I almost always leave a comment. My problem is I have trouble accessing some sites like yours. I don't know why. I have to go through Tootsie and then I can't always get through but when I can I enjoy your blog. I do my blog though to record family stories. My kids read it. I've made some good friends through it and some email me. I'm on the computer for work all day and on break sometimes I check out blogs but not all that often anymore as I do need just that.....a break from the computer!! I too wish people would leave a note when they quit blogging. It would ease many people's minds.

P.S. I post two or three times a week.

Hey Deb! I don't have a blog of my own....I wouldn't even know where to begin. I began "lurking" this summer and quite honestly I am addicted. Sometimes I feel guilty but I have also found many blogs that leave me feeling good about life. My favorite blogs are inspiring, calming and informative. I feel a sense of peace that I didn't have before.

Hope you have a wonderful week-end. Debbi

P.S. My daughter just got a Jack Russell puppy and they named him Jackson. How cute is that? So be sure to tell your little guy that he has a namesake.

Hey Deb! What a wonderful turned out beautiful and I wouldn't part with it either. It's just perfect for the up coming holidays! Yay, they are right around the corner. That's the hardest part about being a yard sale girl and flea market vender...being able to part with our treasures....isn't it? We go to the flea market about 3 to 4 times a year, so we stock pile. LOL! I understand your having a hard time parting with some of the treasures...I have stuff and more stuff tucked away that I won't part with.... and I just interchange my decor alot! LOL! We love it though and we think of it as a hobby really.

Now, about your question on how often we blog ect..., I blog alot more than I really have time for lately. I will probably slow down more as the holidays approach. I wish I did have more time. I post about 3 times a week, which doesn't take long for me....but then I want to visit others and always leave a comment if I visit someone.... I feel like If I look into someone's life....I can at least let them know about it. LOL! Anyway....I've probably been blogging more than I should lately, reason why I say that is because I had found myself neglecting things that needed to be done around the house. Also if I sit too much at the computer, it bothers my hips, so I've had to not do it as often as I'd like to. There have been times that I felt like it was just too much for me to keep up with and then, I always find a little time to go for a visit somewhere on someone's blog. I just don't try to make my way to everyone at once. I pace myself and it makes it enjoyable to me. There's just no way in the world I can visit everyone all at once and still have a real life ya know?! I use to try to go down my list all at once, and I finally came to the conclusion that I couldn't do it. Something tells me you know how I feel. I have often thought that I wouldn't blog anymore and then something would make me want to keep on blogging. I do want to reach people and inspire them in some small way. I can understand why some people have to stop. It would be a little hurtful if people that you care about just vanish though and you don't know what happened to them, or if they are okay....I understand how you feel about a couple of your blog friends vanishing. It would worry me too. If I ever had to leave blogland...I would definately leave a message about it, and I don't see me ever deleting it permanently....because I feel like there is so much about me there and that my children and other family may be interested in reading it one day a long time from now. Ya know? Well, hope you have a great night sweet lady...I'll be looking forward to seeing more of your posts!

I spend way too much time reading blogs. I try to post as often as I can, but cannot often think of what to write about. Of course I want people to keep coming back so I have to write something intriguing, inspiring, funny, motivational, etc., etc. That's not always easy to do!!! My biggest problem is that I go on at work and I should NOT!!! I am addicted, though! I love to hear what my blogging friends have to say each day and I have my regular list that I go through daily. The better I'm getting at this, the more I read. When I first started, it ws hard to keep everyone straight as there were so many great blogs.

I agree that people should say something and not just disappear. I feel like we do have somewhat of a "relationship/friendship" and I would worry that all was well. Maybe they want to just go in peace and not feel bad about getting woeful comments.

Hi Deb I blog whenever I can sometimes its once a week sometimes its more then once.Just depends on my mood and time,3 boys in school, homework etc,and a hubby.Plus all my farm animals take up a great deal of our time.I try to leave comments if I have something to say.Sometimes I give up cause I'm on dial up and type pad and other blogs just take so long to load.I do pink sat and friday fleamarket so that keeps me posting but I don't make it a chore its fun for me its my away time.I miss everyone when I can't get into read often.

I love what you did with the candle holder its so pretty.I think I have something simialer somewhere Icould do that with too. Can't remember if I still have it or sold it.LOL

Your pups are adorable. My Great Dane, Dutchess has major allergies also! She can only eat DIAMOND Lamb and Rice from Tractor Supply or a Home cooked meal with no preservatives, corn etc.Its a hard job but I wouldn't give her up for the world.

I blog as often as I can. 3-4 times a week, more if I can. I love the social network I've become a part of, I've enjoyed getting to know other people :0). Thankfully all I've come in contact with have been nice, supportive and so friendly.
Love the centerpiece. YOu are so creative! I really need to get myself out and about and hit some thrift stores soon. ;0)

Hi Deb
Well first love your projects.
I just started blogging in July and found some great sites to loose myself in, then I started feeling jealous of all the girls great finds, talents, exceptional pictures and being able to write like they were authors. I then realized that blogging is a journal of our thoughts and things we love. When I started getting comments on Pink Saturday and Blue Monday I knew someone was looking in on me and that made me feel good. I comment as much as I can and spend time looking for new blogs everyday. I love diversity and I'm sure finding it!!
Isn't it interesting that family and friends usually never visit (since I have feedjit I know) but complete strangers do.
Just my two cents worth
Have a great week

We have a Jack/Chihuahua mix... Jacks are goofy dogs! They bounce instead of walk!

I try to blog daily but the third trimester has taken over my will to get off the couch so I do snap pictures and do have things to post about but don't have the energy to crop and compose every morning like I used to. I am letting go and resting though because I have learned from two kids that this is the last peace and quiet I'll get for years ;) I am also in school for my teaching credential so I have homework to do too! I spend almost every morning reading blogs and I try to comment on everyone's at least once a week - I love getting comments so I try to return the love! I have 118 blogs on my blog reader though so sometimes it takes a while to get through them all!

I blog too much. If I don't blog everyday I get withdrawals. LOL .I almost always leave a comment because I love to get them also. I try to post everyday if I can , but I average posting 3 or 4 times a a week sometimes . And I don't post at all on the weekends.
I like your candle holder !

As you know I am kind of new to blogging but I look forward to it everyday. I take the weekends off! I enjoy hearing about your lives and interest and others that share my interest! It's fun, and I have time to work and do all the other things I need to do. I promise to say good bye should that day come. I really enjoy the new ideas and friendships!!! Thank you for yours!

I blog when I have an update on my house project, normally. People email me allt he time when I do not post for awhile- wondering what I have been doing on the house. I don't write many letters anymore so the blog is a great way to stay in touch. I do have a list of favorites I read every other day or so- and then I pick a few others from their lists to read. Some become favorites and some don't.

Hi Deb--You are one crafty lady--love the new (old) centerpiece. We've been blogging for almost a year and I've really enjoyed it. I've met some great folks, present company included! But it's tempting to sit at the computer too long and get carried away. I'm not quite as compulsive as I once was, but I still read blogs daily. I've enjoyed reading everyone elses comments too. Nerm

This simple Life said...

It isn't my blog that takes up so much of my time it reading everyone elses. I have had to cut way back and sometimes I feel guilty when I spend an hour reading but don't' comment. Commenting really slows me down and the next thing you know I have spent the entire day on blogs.

I read your almost everyday but I don't always comment because I'm rushing.

Kathy said...

I was one of those "competitive bloggers", I was blogging Mon-Friday at least 500 words and a video or two on the weekends. I spent way too much time doing it, and my family suffered. I limit myself now. I go here and there. I comment when I like the blog and see a post that is something I can post about.

I had to scale back, I am posting each day but I can only spend 30 minutes or less on each post. No matter what my time needs to be concentrated on things with a higher purpose. I had to learn the hard way though!
