A FUN TAG AND SWAP GIFTS AND PROJECTS

Look at my sweet little Grand daughter...we are working on a fun little craft that a blogging friend sent, Mary at Daisy Bouquet. We are making pom pom Turkeys. We have 1 completed and have a few more to do. Kailee loves to craft, just like me :) It cute and goofy at the same time.:) this funny little Turkey

These treasures are from Christy at Sew Much Fabric,So Little Time. We were swap partners for Em's Mini Thanksgiving Swap. Em's blog is Bunch of Scrap. Christy is a sewer and made a lovely table runner for me. It's at the bottom of the photo, right side. It's reversible. She also sent fall napkins, kitchen towel, pumpkin cookie cutter with recipe, cinnamon sticks, and pumpkin spice lip gloss. THANK YOU CHRISTY...all the treasures are wonderful.

The photo below is a TAG from both Joyce on her Justified Journey and Joanne at My Little Cottage in the Making. You go to your 4th file and open the 4th picture. This photo is of Scout and me. This was taken at least 5 years ago or more. He is giving me kisses...way before he started eating poop. We rescued Scout. He was dropped off in the country, where my sister lives. Many animals are dropped of out there. She called us, (softies that we are) and he became a member of our family. We have no idea on his age...and we have had him for 9 years. He knew a few commands when we took him home. He is slowing down and having LOTS of senior moments now. I looked at the date on the file and the photo is from 2003. He is a very good boy.I am tagging these 4 gals and whoever else that would like to play. It's fun!!
1. April at Takin time to smell the flowers
2. Lorena at RoseChic Friends
3. Twyla & Lindsey at Two Crazy Craters
4. YOU....
My weekend plans are to redo the mantle for Thanksgiving, clean the house and maybe go to an estate sale or 2 tomorrow. Church on Sunday and I'd better get the family room cleaned. There is STUFF everywhere...items to mark for the booths, cards to make, laundry to put away, etc... Enjoy your weekend...Happy Pumpkin Day....boooo....Trick & Treat...

BUSY BOYS, HOW QUAINT 2, I WON A GIVEAWAY

How was your weekend??? I'm wondering where mine went. I think I missed it. Below are the Thanksgiving cards I made for the Thanksgiving card swap. You can't see, I added glitter to the leaves and the turkey's tail. I'm into glitter at the moment :)Saturday this white squirrel was in our tree. Isn't it so very cute. A couple of years ago we had one living in the area. Maybe this is one of it's babies. It is a small one. I hope the neighbor guy doesn't trap this one. He sets up traps in his yard which is behind ours and traps them...

I picked up new toys for the BOYS and look what they did....and it only took minutes to do the damage...and guess who has to clean up after them??!!

Tug of War and the toy was the loser...

On Saturday I worked a 4 hour shift at How Quiant. It's part of the contract when you rent space at the store. It was interesting to see what people buy and the pictures below are of my space. Next month we are to decorate for Christmas. So...I MUST go out and find more items to sell:)

No one bought the turkey platter and I was asking only $9.00 for it...cheap I thought.

Saturday after my shift we went to a House warming open house and then to a Halloween party and costumes required. My husband has great ideas...he went as a "bobber"...you know for fishing and I went along as the fishing woman. He won the best costume prize. A gift certificate to a restaurant. That was nice. The party was very quiet....we just sat around and talked...oh well.
Have you ever been to Miss Rhea's blog? Well, she had a 100Th post giveaway and I entered it and WON!!! She makes very real looking and beautiful faux pastries. That is Awesome and Thank you so Much Rhea. Be sure to check out her blog. She is a lovely Christian and needs some prayers at this time.
Twyla & Lindsey from Two Crazy Crafters gave me the Fall Decor Award and I THANK YOU for thinking my decorating is nice. I'll add the award to my side bar. Such great blogging friends.
On Tuesday morning my husband will have day surgery to remove the plates and pins in his right leg from the motorcycle accident he had May 2007. He is in pain and believes removing the
"Hardware" will eliminate the pain. I pray so. I may not post of a few days. It depends on how he is doing after the surgery. Doctor said recovery 7-14 days. I am fast approaching my 100th post and will have a very quick, 1 day only sign up for a giveaway.
Keep on the look out. It's also a secret one...I just want someone to win it who is a regular blogging friend. So, please don't share the news...let them find "me" on their own...THANKS...Deb

ESTATE 2nd DAY GOODIES, CRAFT SHOW AND MORE !!

Today we went to the 2nd day of 2 estate sales. This is when the items are reduced and we found some great buys. This mantle clock it awesome. You can't see the colors very well, it has a green and black on the posts and the rest of the clock is black. We both love old clocks. Not sure if it works..but at 40%off , it's a good deal. The rest of the items were 50% off..see the cute little baby shoes :) There are also hankies, books, playing cards with a cute little Dutch girl, old tea tin and cut little girl dress patterns:)
When I was a little girl, these Jack & Jill magazines the "thing" and I found them from the early 60's, a Christmas tin, baby mittens and more.Happy Dance :) At the second sale we bought lots of paper items that were from old railroads...and a couple of pieces of furniture, which I forgot to take a picture of...a cute standing corner shelf and very sweet round parlor/piano type stool with claw feet and they were reduced also..might have to enjoy them for awhile.

These next photos are my "Set Up" at the craft show. That was interesting. I sold 60 cards, 1 baby shoe, a couple of tags and notebooks....I can now Cross this off my TO DO list. One benefit was meeting other crafters. Behind me was the sweetest older couple. Her name is Mert :) and she helped me with some embroidering. She makes lovely kitchen dish clothes and I HAD to buy a couple from her...

Below is the goodies I received from Mary at Daisy Bouquet. She started a swap in September and we will be swapping through December. I forgot to show you the Sept. goodies, but here are all the October treasures. THANK YOU MARY...stop by her blog sometime :)

She made copies of vintage Halloween postcards that are so sweet. Below are lots of goodies that I will enjoy:) She sent a beautiful piece of fall fabric that I can sew into a table runner..now I have to find the sewing machine under all the laundry:) There was candy, and crafts that I can do with Kailee..just so much fun..

Other news....Amber is all settled into her apartment and it will feel like home in no time. The craft show was a lot of work and I will not do that again. The "customers" said they liked my cards and yet I came home with many...they were only $2.00 each... and the darling baby shoes people really loved and I only sold 1. The others will go to the antique booths.

It was a wonderful fall day and we gathered all the leaves up..until the rest of them fall off the trees and now I'm catching up on blogs and marking more things for the occasional sale that starts on Thursday at How Quaint... I have to have my space all ready by Wednesday evening and I will be helping at the sale this time. Husband has a terrible headache and is in bed.
I know I had other things to tell you, and have forgotten...Have a great week and I'll come by and see what's new with you...Warmly, Deb :)

A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIEND, JEANNE

This is my friend, Jeanne. We have been friends for 37 years give or take. We met at church many years ago. I think I was 16 years old, or around that. She was the Sunday School teacher and I was her helper:) She knows me, and even with all my very rough edges, loves me. She and her husband are my children's God parents. Of course, you all know that my kids are 29 and 27 years old... They have been a example of Christianity for me. I love her and so appreciate all her love, prayers and friendship. God's blessing to me :)
I called Jeanne and said I was stamping on Friday and Saturday and would she like to stamp with me. She said Yes and she would help me too. She came over on Saturday and we went to work. THANK YOU JEANNE FOR HELPING ME. I SO ENJOYED OUR TIME TOGETHER.

These are cards that I had made earlier, along with tags and altered notebooks, cigar boxes and whatever else I could think of.

Are these little "treat bags" cute??!! Guess the photos doesn't show the details as well as it should.

Aren't these little Baby Shoes just darling. This was a team work project that Jeanne and I worked on. I saw this idea and just had to try it. I really LOVE all of them and don't want to sell any of them, but I can call Jeanne and have her come over again and make more.

This mirror was a find at the estate sale that husband and I went to on Friday morning. This is Jackson Brown ,isn't he sweet checking himself out in the mirror. Love the detail on the wood. I think it was a picture frame in it's first life...only $3.00 !!

This cute blue tray is on the wall in the kitchen. I must keep it for awhile :)

2 sets of kitchen towels to sell at either place. Just love these also. Can you see the little PINK potty bowl??? It's on the right side of the photo. It went under the wooden potty chair. In the photo below are more treasures from the estate sale. A little Elf, the baby shoes that were altered, cute little suit case, tin and two vintage table setting cards, NOT used and in great shape.
It was a good weekend. I think I'm done making cards for Friday and Saturday.

My daughter is moving into her new apartment Wed-Sat...and of course, I'm helping in between all the other things that are going on... "That's what Mom's DO"... I probably won't be around much this week...Time will tell. I check up on you gals :) Have a great week and I'll let you know how the craft show went :) Hoping for a SELL OUT :) Warmly, Deb

VERY VINTAGE HALLOWEEN SWAP GOODIES

I joined the Halloween Swap hostessed by Heidi Ann at Foxgloves, Fabric and Folly. My partner was Joanne at "My Little Cottage in the Making". I WANT her again for a swap partner. She made this vintage looking Halloween card. Isn't it great. Nice job Joanne :)

I was so EXCITED that I didn't take a picture of some of the wrapped gifts. She used tissue paper, orange of course, ribbons of black and orange. Nice presentation. Let's see what she sent.

Oh...Orange Hot chocolate :) and a cute mug with a black cat on it. Vintage Halloween postcard with a Kitty in a Pumpkin , framed, witches hat stamp, Pumpkin head votive holder.

Isn't this Kitty holding pumpkin box just vintage and darling:) So Sweet!!

Oh...here is a photo of the treasures wrapped..I also received Happy Halloween garland that you saw in a past post, very sweet vintage notepaper, Halloween stickers to make cards with or scrapbook with, a ghost towel, and a little extra...some card making tools, notepaper and I;m pretty sure I forgot something. I wrote everything down and lost the paper. The computer hasn't been my friend tonight, otherwise I would look for it.

Oh, yes, a vintage , fall Hankie, which I collect. This photo is better. :) This was my First Swap and I was so, very, very, HAPPY with ALL the Treasures. My home looks extra nice with all the Halloween treasures Joanne sent. Did I mention...I WANT her to be my Swap Partner, for each and every swap??!! :) I do hope I didn't forget anything, which I feel I did...sorry Joanne.
As I have mentioned before...PLEASE...If you join a Swap...Send Your Treasures, DON"T
LET YOUR PARTNER DOWN...It isn't right or fair or kind or nice...and you don't want that to happen to you.
Thanks to Joanne and Heidi for making my first Swap SO SWEET.. Warmly, Deb

*****MY THREE DESKS*******

I have 3 desks. It seems a little silly to have 3, and I do. I like desks. The one above is a lady's writing desk. It's vintage. It was my in tension to have this one for writing to my pen pals.
This one to do my Bible study at. This one is new. It was a gift from my husband because I was a very good nurse, taking care of him while his broken leg healed...all summer of 2007. It was a very long recovery as he ended up having 2 surgeries with bone added in the second surgery.

This is my junk, everyday, bill paying, messy desk.... :) I try to keep it clean..just doesn't work. No matter how often I clean it up, it's a mess within moments.. What does your desk look ?
May your Monday be a good day. May God bless you and may you feel His Love. Warmly,
Deb

A LITTLE MORE DECORATING :)

This is my tea cart. It's in the living room as the dining/eating area is too small. I'm sorry that my pictures aren't good. If I get to close, it's all glare..
I did take another picture of the mantle and this looks little better :) or maybe not..
I did go to 2 garage sales..nothing...went to the thrift store, just a couple of things, and will probably go to estate sales this weekend. I did stop at TJM and bought a new set of sheets. The ones on the bed ripped on night. Guess I've had them a long time. I did find something for a Christmas swap :) Have a great weekend. I will probably post later this weekend. You know me:) I have a lot to say:) Warmly, Deb
