How does this look??

This is my question for YOU...I added the sweet little bench in the living room and does it make the room look crowded..does it fit?? The living room is large with a HUGE window on one side, fireplace on one wall and then the wall you see straight ahead and another wall where the sofa is...it's rather hard to place furniture in this room.

My daughter says the living room looks "junky"..."Mom, you have TOO MUCH STUFF"...

I wanted to show you the other end of the living room...blogger isn't letting me add more pics...

Tomorrow we are going to the Minnesota State Fair and taking Kailee with us. It's our "staycation" or "daycation"...

I did put up some fall decorations and will show you soon...when blogger feels like loading pictures...UHG!!!!

It's taken me almost 2 hours just to do this quick post....

Warmly,
Deb :)

I think the bench looks great. And it was fun getting a peek at your living room. I don't think it's too cluttered. It does take forever to do a blog post. I'm thinking I have to start making my posts shorter because I'm spending sooooo much time blogging. I love it, but need a little more balance in my life.

I love the bench too! AND the table and rug:) Can't wait to see what is at the other end!

I like it! I think HOW much furniture one has in a room is just a matter of taste. ♥

I think the bench is excellent in there. You have a lot of pretty things in the room. Your daughter most likely prefers a spartan style...that's fine. She can decorate that way at her place, right?

I like the bench! It does not look like too much. I've found that my children have such different tastes, and like Cindy says, your dd can decorate her own place just how she likes it :-)

I love it!! Your daughter must be a minimalist (LOL)...It DOES look really nice and it seems like there is plenty of room to move around. Keep it girl..it's beautiful

It does not LOOK JUNKY! What a wrong word choice. lol. I like fewer pieces because I feel like Im suffocating if I don't have tons of space. But if you feel like you have enough space to move freely then that is all that matters. It does not look bad at all!

Do NOT listen to her, chickee! It looks fantastic. I should know; I decorate kinda like that: more is less!! Yep, I'm on your side, sugar......

Hi Sis ~ I love it just the way it is and don't think it looks junky at all.

I need to get out of this funk I'm in and bring out my fall decorations. It's only supposed to be in the 60's this weekend...yippee!!!!

Big hugz,
Lil Sis

The pieces all work well together. I did see a few things that you could edit ....maybe the plant on the back wall.
Sometimes when I do a "while you were out makeover", I pull the pieces in even closer together to make the setting really intimate. You can always mov it back.

So, I would tighten the entire arrangement and bring it all on to the rug. That allows you to walk behind the pieces and creates an intimate conversation area.

Beautiful bench!!!

Actually, I really like it there. I'd just have a few more items in white or cream to lighten the room up a bit. Great! TTFN~Marydon

Deb, your living room is beautiful and that bench is SO pretty! Don't you dare take it out! Your living room is far from junky, it looks so nicely arranged. You've done a wonderful job decorating and of course I love your style. Twyla

Looks cozy to me. Fun getting a peek inside your lovely home. With decorating, I think it is best to do what feels good to you.

Creating a post DOES take a long time! My tour of Grass Valley/Nevada City with all the photos of the churches took forever! The post before that took a long time because somehow I accidently deleted it and had to redo it! Oh my...I was not a happy camper.

Have a happy and fun evening.

I like the bench there. I don't think your room looks junky at all. It looks eclectic and I love it! You have a good eye for stuff!

Thanks for checking in on me. I will email ya later. I could use about 4 more hours in the day...ever feel like that? The kiddos start school soon so that will give me more time to get some things done. Have fun at the fair with your grandgirl!

Hugs ~ Angie

Your living room looks wonderful!! I love the way it's decorated and it is not junky at all!! It's funny how often different generations like total opposites. Your room is just my style. I love the clock on the wall! Very nice, Deb!!

Got my Pay It Forward package from you today! I totally forgot about it until I saw your name on the box. Just made my day! You put the most incredible things in that delightful package - I am so thrilled with everything! I love the towel you made (I can't believe you did that!!). The cards you made are sooo beautiful! I just went to Joann's to buy some blank ones so I can try doing something similar. All the vintage things for creating - oh Deb! I am so excited to use those things. I don't have any Bingo cards (until now) and the other greeting cards, flash cards - I'm in HEAVEN!!! You are so wonderful to treat me so special and I cannot wait to Pay It Forward for someone else. Thank you so much for all the warm and fuzzy kindness and goodness you sent to me today!!! I will post all about this (probably tomorrow). Thank you Deb!!!! You're the best!!!

Deb -
Your bench is BEAUTIFUL and it looks perfect in your living room!! There seems to be plenty of room to walk around it, so I don't think it looks crowded at all. My boys tell me the same thing, when I bring something new home they always ask "WHERE is THAT going???" LOL
Your living room is GORGEOUS!! You have beautiful taste :)

Deb, Since I am not there and cannot see the dimensions of the room, I am taking a stab at a suggestion: Exchange places with the bench and the sofa, so the sofa faces the fireplace. Bring the bench up next to your end table, making it a corner piece. Pull the 2 arm chairs closer to each other to make a cozier sitting area. Place a sofa table behind the sofa, facing your Hoosier cabinet but with enough spacing between them for walking room. If that works for you, take another pic and repost it so I can see what else is in that room. If the bench doesn't work on the wall side, you may need to switch it with the chairs in front of that window. Like I said, since I am not able to see the dimensions, I am at a disadvantage...but, that is for starters...

Hope that helps you some!

Hi, Deb I think your livingroom is very well put together and pretty, and I bet you did most of it on the cheap! LOL That's the best part! The bench looks good! My daughter is the same way with me! She calls my livingroom my museum! Gotta love them! xo Fran.
