Thursday Thrift Store Finds & More

I bought this "H" sugar bowl from Barbara Jean at Treasures from the Heart. I have a small collections of initial items.
See the other initial items on my shelf!! Also notice the old plate on the right side with a number 5 on's an old piece from France.
Yesterday I went to a couple thrift stores and this is what I found. Easter cards, not used for 50 cents each...I wish Martha Steward would say "Milk Glass" is the new collectible. It's so pretty and goes with everything. When I see it..I buy it...doesn't sell well at either shop.

The Avon bottles were 50 cents I had to buy a few of those. Great fillers for the booth.

Today stopped at another thrift store and found these whimsy frogs :)

and the Longaberger basket..1.99 yes...and a flower frog that is a flower. The "CAKE FORKS" hubby bought for me on eBay. The left side of the fork is larger to cut the cake as you eat it. Very Victorian and sterling silver. Now I should have a tea party...who wants to come??!!
Yesterday went to a new gal for a haircut...trying to find someone closer to home and for less money than the gal I have gone to...who I do love...just not her price for a haircut. the cut is fine and we will both learn as we go along. It takes some time to "train" them on my hair. I just a LITTLE FUSSY!!!
Also went to eye Dr and am doing the for vision far away...the other for close up and it's working well. No readers ...YES!!!!
No good sales this weekend...and I picked up my paycheck from HQ...Not good...of course the weather didn't help. It will get better :) and I do have a little pin money for now.
I feel for you gals that are having awful weather....stay and sound!!! It's a good weekend to craft and watch movies and snuggle!!!
Deb :)

Hey Deb! I always love looking at your finds - LOVE milk glass...I buy it too and have had mixed results in the shop with it...but to me, it always looks good on the shelves/tables. That is really great stuff you have gathered on the shelves too...neat initial stuff...I like how it all looks together. Love all your Eastery/Spring goodies too...I'm about to start pulling mine all out for the shop just as soon a Valentine's day is over. It never ends in the land of thrifting and shopkeeping, but it sure is fun, huh?

I need to stop long enough and take photos of some of my recent purchases...tons of glass stuff for almost nothing. Oh, and I'm going to my first ever auction tonight...I'll let you know how it goes....
Good to visit with you as usual...have a great (warm) weekend!!

Hugs & Blessings,
Becky S.

Deb, I am still learning things about you! I didn't know you collected 'H' things. Now, I'm going to be looking! Your shelf of this items is so pretty. I like milk glass too and always love the way a grouping of it looks together, but you don't find many collectors or it doesn't seem like it because the milk glass at the flea markets stay there. Your cake forks are so interesting. I didn't know there was such a thing. I hope you are having a good weekend! Twyla

I have never seen them but I am not surprised they have such a thing! Barb has great stuff and your sugar bowl is lovely!!

Hey Deb!
I loved seeing your finds from last week...the hankies are precious and so are those cake forks hubby got for you...hope you are having a wonderful weekend! I'll be sure to check back later to see what you found over the weekend.
Big Hugs,
P.S. You're not the only one that wishes Martha Stewart would say something great about Milk Glass... it is pretty...we just need her okay on it, then it might sell better! LOL! We've taken it to the flea market before and not sold much of it either. I wish I had a big colored cabinet, I'd just keep it all. said...

Hi Deb
Your collections are lovely. I love old bottles and boxes and tins. I also collect cigar boxes and one day I too am going to start making something out of them. It’ll be nice on once you hubby gets your workshop room all set up. I just don’t have room. Its difficult to up and get going with crafts with it means hauling stuff out.
Now I really like Julie’s idea about moving to Florida to avoid any bad weather and not worrying about how snow tires work…I do not like yours about moving to Minnesota to test them…but thank you anyway.
Have a good weekend.
