Whismy Jar Swap, Trader's Market & More

These are the Whimsy Jars that I am sending to my 2 partners. Melinda at Melinda's Fabric Fancies and Bridget who doesn't have a blog at this time. I sent them early...it's just what I do :)

Saturday morning, before it was too HOT we went to the "Trader's Market" which is a flea market set up. It happens at each holiday. Lots of people this year. It's going on today too! It's raining today. Remember my Bluebird Salt & Pepper set.... WELL...I saw a set there, great condition for....don't fall off your chair....$75.00 "WHAT"...are you kidding ME!!! I'm pretty sure he will go home with them... my bank must be worth.."WHAT"?? over a 100.00 ??!! LOL...maybe I'm the one that is clueless about them.

These are my finds from the market...there was a "Button" lady...I could have looked at her buttons for hours!!! Hubby went along...and was waiting for me...

This is a "mourning" hankie....that is what the lady told me. First, I haven't ever seen a black hankie and I believe her :) and...it was only 2.50 !!!

Thursday I worked on the above garden...it's a MESS...and really needs help....

after...not quite done. I need more mulch. Sure looks better.

Yes...that is milkweed. It's for the butterflies! I sure hope they come. My neighbor pulls hers up.
That's all for now.
Warmly,
Deb :)

I had to laugh out loud at your comment about the $75 bluebirds and that the guy would probably go home with him. Some people think their stuff is worth soooo darned much! Hubby (who usually does get good deals) is always coming home with treasures for me to check out on Ebay. We all have to remember that, although an item is LISTED at a certain price, it may not SELL at that price.

BTW, my gardens really need your special attention...(*hint...)

Hugs,
Sher

You are very kind to grow milkweed for the butterflies, and that is amazing how much $ the man wants for the bluebirds. Maybe he did sell them.

Me, again! You might want to take a look here: http://bit.ly/bQkx5U Just a little info on mourning hankies! It wasn't unusual for widows to crochet borders around their hankies - the wider the border, the longer the lady had been mourning.

I liked seeing your mourning hankie, because I've never seen or heard of one before! What a great find that was. And don't people that ask the moon for their junk just make you want to laugh out loud at them?!
Happy Monday!

First, I saw a Nutgoodie in your first photo, do you know we don't have them in Florida. I so love and miss them I always buy one coming and going from the airport and when anyone comes to visit, admission is a Nutgoodie. I have an antiques booth and I have never seen a black hanky, I bet it is a mourning hanky!

Around here those bluebird pieces are quite expesive! There is a cute little planter at our THRIFT store for $75. I've seen similar prices in the antique stores, too. Believe me, you found a gold mine when you found all those pieces. Your child's plate and cup are extremely rare. I love all your hankies and buttons. Good haul! I hope you have a great day! Twyla

Finally experienced a bluebird sighting! It was the eggcup and priced at $45. Nothing better than an afternoon sifting thru buttons and hankies! Cool outdoor market too.
