My Mantle, Angel with new Wings & HQ

Here is my Christmas mantle...simple and sweet. Found the felt snow at a sale earlier this year.
I bought this angel YEARS ago and she is showing a little wear and tear!
She looks pretty and loves her new wings, pearls and flowers. She is on top of my tree.

Scored all these vintage greeting cards at the estate sale on Saturday...

and these linens. It was a nice "digger" sale. Lots of stuff and good prices.

Just a couple of photos of my room at HQ for the sale that starts on Thursday!

Still working on my Christmas cards. Of course there is shopping and a little baking to do. I work on Friday at HQ and half of Saturday. Sunday we are having a few friends over for a little Christmas Open house...Busy and Fun!!!
Thanks for visiting me. It's such a busy time of year and we all have lots to do and I sure KNOW how much time one can spend in blog land seeing all the ideas and visiting friends.
Remember....Jesus is the Reason for the Season!

My Christmas Tree, Swap and Win

This past week I purchased a "fake" tree....it's pretty nice and full with the lights already on it!
Hubby and I have cut our own tree for years. Trying to save time this year...It looks better in my house than on the photo... I'm not thrilled with it...it will do for awhile. I haven't had a tree in this spot before...usually in the corner. That is now where the Indian cabinet is. You can see it from the dining room and living room. I always have white lights on mine. I have vintage ornaments, tinsel and faux poinsettia's this year.

These two photos are the swap gifts that I received from Debby at http://cozyblanket.blogspot.com She had a Christmas swap and you could send a decorated cigar box or jar. We both did cigar boxes. I just sent mine to her yesterday. Thank you, Debby for the fun Christmas swap :)

I won this very pretty tea set from Deb at http://debsanestingplace.blogspot.com aka A Fine Feathered Nest. Along with the rose bowls and rose scoop. The tea set is sweet and petite. Thank you, Deb. It's just so darling!

I'll be showing you my mantle and other little Christmas decor after the sale at HQ...I'm also making my Christmas cards. I may get them put together this weekend! I also made a couple easy little gifts and will show them too! Can you say "busy" :)
Hubby and I went to a couple estate sales and I'll show you the treasures that I "bought" later this week too! It was a nice "digger" sale. Lots of linens, vintage greeting cards, hankies, glass ware and MORE!!! I didn't go overboard!!! I have a few Christmas gifts to buy! I do have my Granddaughter all done...except for the few stocking stuffers!
Guess I'll get back to putting together my cards!

deb :)

Christmas at How Quaint

These are all photo's of my new room/space at HQ and I'm all ready for Christmas...

I should have taken photo's of the other rooms...they are all so nice and each of us has our "OWN Taste" which makes shopping here so great! Lots of variety... something for everyone :)

I HAD to purchase 2 place settings of these dishes. One of the gals at HQ is selling them! Aren't they awesome! They are called Narumi China and dated 1958. They just Called out to me to buy them. There are more pieces...I'll see what's left when I work on Friday!
The plans for Thanksgiving are: Mom's and bringing the stuffing and hubby's made from scratch potato buns. Eating about 2...I'm going to buy a turkey for us and have it another time. It's such a good deal when the prices are so good.
Tomorrow is Granddaughter's winter program. Friday my shift at HQ and maybe a sale on Saturday...What can I say?! I'm a estate sale junkie :) Have a FUN weekend...
Warmly,
deb :)

Bachmans Christmas House!!! Part 1

Today Mom and me went to see the Bachmans Christmas Idea house and it was AMAZING! SO Many wonderful ideas...I want "Ki" and her crew to come to my house and make it pretty amazing for Christmas !
These "half-trees" are in the "sun room" of the house. Mom and I love the idea! Beautiful tree in the living room...the living room color is beautiful! Sorry these photos aren't in any order....random like me!

Idea in the upstairs "craft room"...Love this idea too!!!

Want one of these..just the wood holder is 24.99 and the glass insulator is 6.99 passed on this and hoping "honey" can make me one. ( Stopped at an estate sale by the house on the way home and bought 4 glass insulator's for 1.00 each) God thing!!! Thankful! I know I can find some neat old wood piece too!

Cool shelf over a staircase window...

Wall in dinning room...this is my new inspiration idea...Mom said..hey you have a large old frame in the garage that will work! YES...I do...now to dig around and find some old trays and I think I'll also use some old plates... I'll be sure to do a B&A when I do this project! I won't be adding the shelf or lamps, just the large frame with fun stuff inside.

I took almost 50 photos. It's amazing! We went into the retail building to have lunch at the yummy restaurant, Patrick's and GUESS who is in line, just ahead of us.... "KI" and of course I had to tell her how wonderful the house is and what an awesome job she did and introduced her to Mom and myself! It was a wonderful day! I'll post more photos after the weekend. I sure hope you enjoy the photos and find some wonderful ideas to try!

I have so MANY ideas just floating around in my little head. Where are Santa's helper's??!! I need a FEW Elf's to help me!
Tomorrow to HQ and working on the room. It's coming along...it sure won't look like the Bachman house...oh well...it will be Christmas in it's own way!
The weather here has been Wonderful! Record temps so enjoyable. Well....back to pricing treasures!
Have a Amazing weekend...or Wonderful weekend...or Creative weekend...
Deb :)

Peek At the New Room & Christmas Reading

Thanks for all your concern/prayers for Sweet Pea. She is doing great! She is also doing all the things that the vet said she shouldn't do...run, jump, use the stairs..."She's a Jack"...She is next to Mack in this photo.
Here is a "peek" at my new room/space at HQ. I was there today for a few hours. It's a smaller room and no closet to hid stuff...it will look MUCH BETTER by the sale and I'll show you new photos. The color on the walls is called "Concrete"... it looks blueish/greenish to me!

I NEED more time to read all of these!!! Lots of great ideas in these books and magazines...

however.... this is what I'm doing...PRICING stuff for HQ and the antique store...it's what I'll be doing this weekend...and STILL cleaning out the garage so that the Jeep fits in before the snow comes...
I HOPE you are doing something FUN this weekend!
Warmly,
deb :)

Cool Carved Pumpkins and New Mantle

A friend of ours carves pumpkins in memory of famous people who have passed on in the current year and these are just a few of them that I'm showing you. Doesn't he do an awesome job!!!

Can't remember who all of them are...you'll just have to guess!

Oops..out of order...cute kailee in her costume...a Winter Snow Princess...

This one is Jimmy Dean!

Took down the Halloween tonight and put up the few Thanksgiving decoration's that I have.
We dropped off Sweet Pea at the vet's tonight too! We let her sleep with us last night and no problem. She cuddled under the covers and that was that! We can't pick her up until Wednesday morning...
Just like the rest of you...I'm totally thinking Christmas...and need to make a list of all the things I must do! The room is all painted and hubby helped me move the stuff and brought in some display pieces. Marking goodies for the sale and trying to catch up on everything else...plus I STILL need to get the garage cleared out so the Jeep can be in it...anyone wanna come help?! I have chocolate!!
Warmly,
deb :)
