Finds & Swap package

We went to 2 estate sales on Saturday and these are the goodies. I keep reminding hubby that we need to save our money for our vacation!!! We didn't spend too much!

The old spelling board is from 1940 and has numbers on the other side. It's already at the antique store for sale. The old maid cards have the sweetest pictures on them and for now are staying with me.

Sweet Pea kept sitting on top of her kennel as she thought "something" was on top of the Hoosier and she was also on top of that. She is SO BUSY!!!

Pearl, from Pearl's Sentimental Journey and I had a little one on one Valentine Swap. Pearl has been having health issue this past year. These 2 photo's are the goodies she made and sent to me. I forgot to take photo's of what I sent her. Of course the chocolate goodies are GONE! I did share!!!

These tags are awesome. Just look at the playing card banner and LOOK at the little journal that has my word "DO". Little matchbox that was altered too. Such fun gifts from the heart!

Picked up my check at HQ... was hoping for more...of course... and hope that February will be much better!

Haircut is SHORT!! Yikes!!! It does grow fast! Hubby had "no comment"... good idea... LOL!!

Guess what??!! More snow tomorrow...REALLY, we have ENOUGH SNOW here in Minnesota.

What's in the Bag??

This happens every time I come home from shopping... they are looking for a treat or two. Helper's..or are they????

Crafting with some old spools...

Painting these for HQ... I'll shabby them up a bit. The drawer is for me. I love old drawers and have a FEW that are in the garage, waiting for their space in my "someday craft room"...

Sweet Pea with her little Valentine scarf. It's so much fun, dressing up my little girl dog...

I'll be picking up my check on Friday from HQ...that's always a fun day. I'm also getting my hair cut on Saturday and went to the library and checked out a bunch of hair magazines. I'm ready for a little change...or am I???

Nothing too exciting going on. Mailed all my Valentine swap packages. Isn't Valentine's day coming up quickly?! I saw Easter things at Michael's this week.

Cards made, Praising God, Meeting Blogger

A week ago daughter and Grand daughter went to church with me. Grand daughter made the decision to accept Jesus into her heart on Wednesday and today at church she rec'd a "white" rose. It's just AMAZING!!! It's HUGE and I'm so Thankful! Continued prayers for her Mom and Dad as they aren't "there"...yet...

Finished up my Valentine cards and Valentine swap goodies. Now to get them in the mail.

Hubby and I went to a sale, rather late in the day and it was 10.00 bag time..these are some of the things I picked up. Over 50 goodies for 10.00 ~ not bad !!!

Friday while working at HQ, a sweet gal was taking about where she sells and that she has a blog...so I meet Laurel from http://chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com It's always FUN to meet another blogger. Stop by her blog...she has awesome ideas about decorating with "junk"...

Tomorrow no school for Grand daughter so we'll be hanging out and doing a few errands.

It was -19 on Friday...can you say ...Burrrrrrrrrrr! Much better today, 5 above :) "Why do I live here"???

First Sale at How Quaint 2011

Here is my room ready for the First sale of the New Year! We are doing something new, having a "sale"... some items are reduced!

It will be fun to see how it goes. The weather is going to be COLD!!! That may or may Not be good for shopping!

I put out some Valentine's.

I will also be working Thursday evening to make up for the girlfriend weekend and all day on Friday!

I'll be back Sunday evening and hope to show you some of the Valentine's that I've been making!

"I fell off the Wagon"...

YES... I fell off the "no spending" wagon today... and I enjoyed it! I haven't been to an estate sale since Nov! This pitcher and chamber pot were 1/2 off and don't you just LOVE the patina!!??

13 years ago our Jack Russell, Mercedes had 6 puppies. 3 boys and 3 girls. This is Mack from the litter. He is first born and today is his birthday! He wasn't fond of the hat...he LOVED his beef bone and the other treats that he had today. He is going blind and his hearing isn't 100% ... and he is a "tad" crabby... hey, I'm a "tad" crabby once in awhile too and I'm not as old as he is ~

Guess what...it's Snowing...better than the COLD that is coming next week.

STILL being good about not "shopping"... we are saving for our vacation to Florida within the next couple of months.

Been working on my Valentines for the swap and am almost finished with them. I just want to do that all day and not to anything else.... ha ha.. that doesn't happen.

Hubby helped hang the chandelier at HQ on Saturday and later this week I'll be there, loading up the room.

Not much going on right now...kind of nice!

Valentine Mantle & more

It's time to decorate for Valentine's Day..."Love" is in the air, or at least on the mantle.

Aren't these shoes the "cutest"!!! I "earned" them last year when I helped at that vintage estate sale. So awesome! The lady of the house had treasures and more. That was an experience! The silver vase was a estate sale find from Last year!... No shopping for me for the last few weeks...

The sweet bird house in the middle I received/won from Connie at Living Beautifully. She made it. The cute mushroom was a gift from Twyla at Two Crazy Crafter's. She makes them!

It was bitter cold one day last week and Sweet Pea decided to sleep with Jackson Brown in his kennel. She has her own...more cozy this way.

I was in need of some birthday cards...this is what I came up with. I LOVE the bird stamp. It so "tweet" :)

I have to get going on my Valentines and swaps. Creating with paper is relaxing and FUN!

Off to HQ to get my room ready. The sale starts on the 20th...we had a nice long break, so it's time to get going!

Inspiration equals Before & After

Happy New Year!!! The photo above is from Bachman's idea home that Mom and I toured before Christmas and this dining room wall just "spoke" to me!!! So......

This is my dining room wall before....sure it's okay, but not inspiring :)

Here is the after...when hubby came home and "finally" saw the wall...well... "OMG" he said and then a little later said it was "okay".... I'm thinking I can "add" to the wall. The large frame was a garage sale find and I added a little "blue" so that you could see it on the wall. The plates have little mirrors added to them as well as the silver trays. I may need to find oval mirrors for them. The "H" in the middle was a gift from a blogging Friend :) Thank you, Linda!!! Cost: around 20.00 with things that I already have!

Close up of my "inspiration". I also have been working on the mantle for Valentine's day. Yes, it's early.

Hubby I and stayed home yesterday and I stayed in my pj's all day!!! Today we went out for lunch at Outback. Yum! Last night hubby did cook lobster and baked potato's for our dinner and we had champagne! Which I do enjoy!!!

I have read a few blogs and have seen gals picking a Word for the New Year. After thinking about that, my word is "DO"!!! Do good, Do nice things for others, Do eat better, Do get to church more than once a month, Do create, Do be a good steward with the money, Do, Do, Do!!! and the list goes on and on! I like my word for the year!

I need to catch up in blog land and see what you have been doing.
