Small finds, My Tag & Grandgirl

I've mailed out the tags I made and this is how they look. Now my Grandgirl and I are making ones to swap with each other. She is loving to create with me!

We went to a sale and she put this hat on. I bought her this American Girl Doll after the kidney stone issue. The rest of THAT STORY is: Grandgirl and I were out shopping and when it happened and an off duty officer, who came to my aid, thought that I was having a "heart attack"... so ... an ambulance was called. Grandgirl was given the option of waiting for my Mom (GG) or riding with me to the hospital in the ambulance. She decided to wait with a real police officer until GG arrived. What a day that was! I felt she was very brave and deserved it. Plus I was going to buy her this one, just later, like Christmas!

Just a few finds from this weekend. We went on Sunday, so it was 1/2 off day. Except for the rose mold angel girl and small round holder. I bought those at The Vintage Cottage when I worked on Friday.

Christmas finds seem to be around. You never know when you'll need some for a swap. Fun vintage calling cards.
You guys have no idea how AWESOME you are to prayer for my BFF! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I did mention to "ME" that I posted about her cancer. I'll keep you updated.

Our central air just went OUT!! Yikes!!! Guess we'll be looking for a new unit...great! Oh well, heard it's going to "cool off" on Friday! Timing is important and I hope we can find one that isn't going to "break the bank"!! UPDATE ~ 7-26 ~ hubby fixed the A/C!! He is amazing and I'm very Thankful!!

Trying to Keep Cool,

deb

That's so sweet, Deb! How nice that you and your granddaughter enjoy crafting together. You found some great things. I've been keeping an eye out for vintage looking Christmas things, but it may be too early here yet. I haven't seen anything and I know last year I saw quite a few boxes of vintage ornaments.

I have been hoping our AC makes it through this horrible summer. Sorry to hear you have to go through this heat without it. Your grand was so brave and surely did get a wonderful gift for it. My daughter has been crafting bunk beds for hers all day. Love love love your banner...smiles...Renee

Cutest little homemade vintage tag ever!! Your granddaughter is adorable. I had to call Lucie in to show her the picture. Lucie has two American dolls. One was $5 at a garage sale. She was like new. I have found tons of clothes for them at garage sales as well. I love all the goodies you found!! You get the best stuff. I hope it cools down. Good luck with the A/C.

Oh no not the air conditioner!!! I keep waiting for mine to go, it is so inefficient the electric bill is sky high. Your grand baby is getting so hold, I bet you scared the heck out of her when you had the stone, the first time is really scary because of the unknown and pain, I know you will never have another one. When I had more and more, they weren't that big a deal because I know what they were. Great vintage finds, I love showing up when things are 1/2 price!

I love that you craft with your Grand daughter. She's a cutie with her doll. Cute Christmas finds. Our AC went out too, but we got it fixed the next day, so we're pricing them now. Don't want it to happen again when it's 105 around here.Glad you're feeling better! Try to stay cool!

Deb, You tag is beautiful... I need to work on mine, I have this crazy client right now and we have an offer on her house so I have been very busy with my big girl job! I am hoping to get an open Escrow in just a couple days. I love all your Vintage treasures, I am sitting babysitting tonight so I have time to visit my Favs. Hugs, Diane

The heat this summer has been something hasn't it? Our unit went kerplunk and he had to have it replaced. OUCH! How brave of your Granddaugher and how scared she must have been. She looks so pretty in her hat! Lot's of cool finds you have there!

Blessings

I didn't realize that happen while out and about! I'm glad you are okay now but I bet it was a scary thing for your grand daughter...she is a very pretty girl too! Yes, it does seems to all happen at once. We are fortunate to be enjoying dry air and very cool and comfy nights out in WY and I DO NOT want to go back to that horrible humidity in MN! (PS I found a few treasures on the way out here!)

Good morning, Deb! I LOVE the paper you used on your tag! So sweet.

My GG has a blonde AM doll too but I think she's about out grown it! I knew she'd be the type to give up dolls early. :(

Hope you get air soon! It gets so cold here at night that we hardly need it. ♥

I was reading your post - have been a reader of your blog for over a year, but only a rare commenter - and had to smile grimly about your A/C. Our central air went out too on the same day (the 25th). It was a 16-year old unit. And it has been hot-as-you-know-what here. Luckily, the new unit will be installed today. But we are $5K poorer. I hope you can find a good, cheap solution soon! Think SNOW!!

American girls are such a precious gift and there are so many free patterns online to make some fantastic clothing for her new doll. I bet you could find some neat fabric at your garage sales.

The AC going kaput is no good so I hope you get it fixed soon :)

Hey pretty lady,

Sorry I'm so late responding, but I will definitely include your BFF in my prayers. Cancer, in any form, isn't good. I'll pray that it's treatable and goes away.

I did get your banner, it's lovely and so happy. Thank you for swapping with me. Yours is coming soon, I'm still picking goodies out for everyone.

Well, your granddaughter was very brave indeed, and she looks so happy with her new doll.

So sorry about the AC, but thankfully you seem to be in good health and can handle a little heat....I hope!

Hugs,
Meri

Sorry about your A/C. Isn't that always the way it goes...right in the dead of summer. Ugh. I feel your pain. I love all of your finds as usual. Your granddaughter is a doll...just like the one she is holding. Prayers continue for your BFF.

Your sweet granddaughter looks just like an American Girls doll. I have 8 granddaughters and so far only one has asked for an AG doll. There are lots of fun AG patterns to be found on Pinterest...some are easy enough for a girl to make herself. =D

Aren't little girls FUN to play with?! That American Girl doll looks just like her!

Super great finds! We have a new thrift shop here that is awesome, in my opinion, because it doesn't wait until Nov. to sell its Christmas items. So I've been getting some great deals on vintage ornaments and decorations! So many other thrift stores just wait and then it's a mad-house with everyone trying to get their Christmas goodies.
Uh-oh, Nic's asking for waffles. Gotta run!

I have so much catching up to do! First, I just said a prayer for your friend ME, our God is good and always has healing and miracles for us when we least expect it! Second, I'm so glad you are on the mend from your kidney stone. I have never had one but my hubby has so I know how painful they can be. And lastly, I love your banner, it turned out so cute. Have a great weekend, Nan

Hello Deb!!

Wow, you've had a lot going on in your life of late...my goodness!! I have and will continue to pray for "ME" - God is bigger than cancer and He is holding her close... Sorry to hear of your bout with a kidney stone - ouch!!! So glad you are better...oh, and glad to hear your air is fixed, whew!! We wouldn't last a day without it down here in Texas...glad your handy hubby got it fixed!!

Your swap tag is adorable and all the finds I've seen from your recent posts continue to confirm to me that we would have BLAST if we went junking together!! :o) Wish I lived in Minnesota to be part of your blogger gathering - sounds like a blast!!

Take care friend - and many thanks for your kind words about my studio - you're most welcome here any time!! PS - when I was in Orlando this past week for a trade show, I was able to meet with Carol at her booth just like you did - what fun!! I haven't posted about it yet, but I will soon...

Hugs & Blessings,
Becky
