Treasure Hunting and More

Hubby and I went "treasure hunting" yesterday. We went to 4 antique shops and had lunch out. It was a nice day. He had put in MANY hours at UPS, so a "fun day" was in order. I have wanted this little State fair treasure since I was in grade school. She was even on the cane and in pretty good condition. She is now in my craft room!

Most of these are for the booths. The fan blade I may make into a picture frame. It's the "gold" piece in the middle with a compact on it. I didn't have a silver compact, now I do! A little addition to my collection.

Hubby replaced the kitchen light as it kept burning out light bulbs. This one is a few inches away from the ceiling. I painted the gray plastic decorative ring. I think it gives it a little "charm" :)

Being silly on Christmas morning at my Mom's!

We had a very nice Christmas and hope that you did too! I missed my son, but had Chopper, his dog, over and that was nice.

Tomorrow hubby and I are moving to a better spot at Antiques MN. It's closer to the front of the store. We have 4 LARGE glass show cases to move...and all the goodies! It may take 2 days!!

Hoping that 2014 will be a WONDERFUL, HAPPY and filled with Many BLESSINGS for each one of YOU, NEW YEAR!!!

Christmas Crafting at Erica's & Thank You's

Here we are at Erica's a couple weeks ago to make some Christmas crafts. (L-R) Erica, Harriette, Tammy and Erica's twin sister, who's name I totally forgot, bad me, I'm sorry!) Can you see the sweet aluminum tree behind them?!!! Go to Erica's blog to see just how AWESOME her Christmas decorating is. Beware, you might "covet" it! I also met Harriette for the first time. She is a dealer at the shop next to Auntie M's. Please visit her blog too!  Puppies are Willie and Tucker. ( I hope that is right!) Tammy has a blog, Tammy's In Love, however, she isn't blogging at this time. She and I went to the October Afternoon sale this fall.

On the table were these little boxes loaded with vintage Christmas to use for our projects. I totally spaced out taking a photo at Erica's of the finished projects. She is going to post about it sometime.

So, when I got home I was so into crafting that the next morning I embellished the church and the putz house. What we made at Erica's was the Santa in the chimney, the tart and the Santa bell!  It was a very FUN day! Thank you, Erica! I LOVED IT!

Judy, from 20 North Ora had a giveaway this fall and she was kind enough to make me this sweet Candy Cane pillow and Table Runner!!! The fabric is so pretty. The photo doesn't do them justice. Please pray for her hubby as he has health issues. THANK YOU, Judy!!!  You can see in the photo above that the runner looks pretty on my table.

The mailman has been dropping off a few packages. This pretty mug, tea and nice Christian CD is from Jocelyn, who I met this summer! A blogger from Florida!  THANK YOU, Jocelyn! I loved meeting her and spending a few hours showing her around.

These gifts are from Debbie. We haven't met, yet! She lives in CA. We enjoy exchanged little gifts and she sent me these! I have a small collection of pitchers. Isn't the mini copper strainer to cute! Bluebird of happiness is sitting on my window sill. Pretty Salt & Pepper, fun stamps, snowman and CHOCOLATE!
THANK YOU, Debbie.

Isn't that the cutest "vintage" truck! Sharon, another blogger that came to MN this summer and stayed with me, sent this to me!  I NEVER thought that when I started blogging that I would ever meet bloggers and then have Friendships, because of blogging! What a blessing! The chocolates my hubby decided to "help himself"...he is now on the naught list!!! Sharon makes the best tags! THANK YOU, Sharon!

SO many Blessings from Blogging FRIENDS!!!  THANK YOU!!!

Off to clean the house and I'm thinking about making cookies. Tomorrow is my duty day at Auntie M's if anyone is out and about in Hopkins!!! I'll be there from 10:30-4:00!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS,

Gingerbread House, Cocoa Bar & Recent finds

This year my Grandgirl decorated the gingerbread house all by herself. Growing up too fast! Do you see Jackson Brown, he thought it was something for him to eat!

Okay, I just had to "copy" the cocoa/tea bar that I've seen around blog land! My Grandgirl LOVES it!

A few weeks ago we went to a couple of estate sales and this is all I purchased. I'm still trying to buy less. With the wedding next year, ($$$),  this house MUST be free of bins in the family room!!!

I wrapped the gifts yesterday after church and before we went to a local church that puts on a Christmas concert which was very nice.  It was a busy weekend. Went to a friend's home for dinner of Saturday and Friday I went to Erica's for some crafting fun. I'll post about that next. Also rec'd some good mail :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Little More Christmas Decor

This is the bow window on the front of the house. Very simple this year...this photo was taken before all the snow came :)  I bought the angel wings last year after Christmas, on sale!
My mini white ceramic tree, "putz" house I made last year, "D" from a blogging friend, Sharon. This little cabinet is in the "dining area".
Here is that AWESOME register vent that I recently bought all decked out for Christmas! I LOVE this piece
My hoosier with a "putz" house made last year from a swap with Shirley, the NOEL from Sharon and the deer antlers I recently bought. It doesn't look "finished", but it is! LOL!

Thank you for all your very sweet and kind comments about my Christmas tree & sled. Since my hubby isn't into the Christmas spirit, it's so NICE to have my "friends" letting me know that they enjoy/like my Christmas decor. Maybe it's a "girl" thing!? LOL!!!

As you all KNOW, it's FREEZING HERE!! Actually, BELOW FREEZING!!! Too early for this. I don't mind the snow but the cold must go!

My son leaves for Hawaii on Friday for 3 weeks, (no fair!), so he will be on the beach for Christmas! I know he will have the best time. This is his 2nd trip there this year!

The Pop-Up Shop went well, considering it was Freezing outside! Thank you, Tammy for coming!!! I sold many smalls. Good to have treasures go to new homes!

Don't forget:   JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON!!!

I decided to decorate the tree this year with my vintage ornies...

Remember the rusty sled that I recently bought ... here she is all pretty for Christmas. Aren't the little child skates too cute! I've had them for years. They make me smile.

Here is my 2013 Christmas Mantle.

I'm trying to go "simple" this year or less is more! I'm putting up my tree this weekend.

I rec'd the good mail today. I joined "A Swap For All Seasons" and the Card, Tag and green destash arrived. Susie, from South City Hues sent me the sweetest tag with little jingle bells on it and the Christmas tree card. I'm thinking I'll keep them!  Below are the goodies she sent. It's a fun swap!  THANK YOU< Susie! I'm loving them!

Daughter and I went Christmas shopping today. I think I am DONE! I don't buy for many. Daughter, son, grandgirl, future SIL and my Mom. Hubby and I just fill our stockings! I also buy for a couple of friends. Now to wrap them up. I do give my 2 sister's a little something and I have that too! Surprised myself! I'm going to make a few more Christmas cards.

"JOY" Project & Bridemaids Dress Found

SO, I found some "JOY" and decided that it would work in this old frame...

and it DOES! It will go on the mantle. JOY is my favorite word!

Here are 4 of the 5 girls in the style of dress that they will wear for daughter's wedding. The color is the black one. It's so pretty on them. One more thing crossed off the list! My Grand is in the blue one and she looks much older than her 10 years!

Thank you all so much for the sweet and kind comments about my cards. You are my biggest cheerleaders!

Quick note: I'm going to be a vendor at:

                      " AUNTIE CAKE & FRIENDS POP-UP CHRISTMAS SHOP "

go here:       http://www.facebook.com/events/1414909102071954/        for all the details.

I'll post on Sunday evening with a photo of things that I will be selling there. It's a nice variety of vendors at an AWESOME home!  I sure hope some of you gals can come!

Have a lovely Sunday!

Making Christmas Cards

I've started making my Christmas cards and here are the ones I've finished. I make about 4-6 of each one. Looks like I'm into a Dog Theme this year. I love the vintage images.

Has anyone made Stuffing in a Crock Pot??? I'm looking for a recipe for one as I'm having 10-13 people for Thanksgiving. I wish I had 2 ovens!!! Having a recipe for stuffing will help.

Saturday we are looking for "Bridesmaids" dresses. Daughter wants her "girls" to wear long black dresses. I'll take photos and share them with you! I'm sure enjoying all of this! My 2 weddings were simple! Did I tell you she has 5 bridesmaids!  Anyway.... it's all good!

I'm "thinking" I might put up some Christmas on my mantle this weekend. I'll put up the tree after Thanksgiving. It's coming up quickly! How's your decorating coming along??

Running In the RAIN & Christmas Booth

The booth at Auntie M's is ready for Christmas. More will be added.. Cool Christmas sweater, anyone?! LOL!

SO, I was coming in the front door of the house and little Sweet Pea, DASHED out the door before I could stop her! The RACE was ON!. Of course it was POURING rain outside and she RUNS much faster than me! LOL! I finally "caught" her in a neighbors garage! Thankful! NAUGHTY, Naughty DOG! She got a nice bath after this photo! I'm thinking Santa will be leaving a Lump Of Coal in her stocking!!!

I was "thinking" about putting up some Christmas decor on the mantle today. Didn't happen. Feels too early and I was overwhelmed at the amount to Christmas decor to go thru. Daughter did put her tree up today. It's pretty with blue & white lights.

Have a Blessed Sunday!

CHRISTMAS at the Bachman Idea House

I REALLY wanted this sweet reindeer, however, he is over $200.00, so he is staying at the store! He is so soft and sweet!

I hope you enjoyed the photos. The lighting was bad for my little camera, so that is all. Have a great weekend! This is a no comment post so just enjoy.

Today's Estate Finds

Have you EVER seen a GNOME Christmas blow mold?! I did today and he just had to come home with me. Not sure if I'll sell him or keep him. I also found some Christmas wrapping paper in the colors I'm going to decorate with this year: RED & WHITE with silver. It was only 50 cents for all 3 rolls! It was a digger sale!
They also had hankies. We went to TWO digger's sales today. Hankies from both sales! I've already washed them!

Very cool and big bread bowl is just perfect for some fall decor.  We only went to 2 sales. I went back to the first one and my daughter went with me. It was her FIRST TIME at an estate sale! She said it felt a little "creepy", but loved saving money.

Having a fun week ahead! Monday, helping at the Vintage Cottage, Tuesday, Doctor apt and then dealer work night at Auntie M's. Getting ready for the SALE that starts on Friday! Store wide sale!!!Wednesday I'm taking Mom to the Bachman Christmas Idea house! FUN and I'll take some photos to show you! Friday I'm working at the Vintage Cottage in Carver for their monthly sale! Come VISIT! I think a haircut is in order next Saturday!

On Friday I started making my Christmas cards. Photo to come.

Daughter and I also went shopping and I picked up a couple of Christmas gifts. I've started, how about YOU? Feels good.

Have a Blessed Sunday!

Thanksgiving mantle

The pretty days of fall are winding down! Since our spring was "late" the leaves are staying on the trees longer and I'm loving it! I took this photo a couple of weeks ago coming home from the pumpkin patch. Yesterday I raked a bit and today you can't tell! LOL!!

Just a easy-peasy Thanksgiving mantle. I'm wanting to get out my Christmas decor, but I will WAIT until after Thanksgiving day .

Thank you for the sweet comments about the wreath! I hope to make a couple more. I did go to a thrift store yesterday and bought more Christmas balls at great prices!  It was crazy there! I usually don't shop on the weekend at retail stores because it's too crazy!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend and that this week you'll find a blessing or two!

Making Christmas Gifts

On Monday I got together with my BFF and we worked on Christmas wreaths. I forgot they take time to make! Plus, I had a bigger size wreath than last year. Anyway, the one above in blue and silver is for my Mom for Christmas. She doesn't read my blog, so I'm safe to show it to you!  I plan on making a couple more, however, I must buy more bulbs! I've been passing them up at estate sales, thinking I had enough, WRONG!

These snowflakes are from the dollar store, last year. I embellished them with some vintage goodies. I'm selling them at the booth at Auntie M's.

I need to make my Christmas cards, or at least, get some ideas for them! Hasn't the month flown by!!! Next Friday is Nov 1st! YIKES!

Tomorrow is my duty day at Auntie M's. I'll be there from 12 noon till close, 5:30. I'm bringing more Christmas goodies!

HAPPY WEEKEND!

Booth, Pumpkin Patch & Wedding Venue

I added some Christmas to our booth this week. I'll be adding LOTS more later this month. I'm hoping sales pick up...not doing as well as last year at this time! Hmm...???

Yesterday was the pumpkin patch. Funny little girls! They had FUN. I forgot to take their photo with their huge pumpkins!  Grand girl is on the right. She is into making faces when having her photo taken...hmm!!!

Tonight was the tasting at the REVUE. Above is where they will marry on the golf course. If the weather isn't nice, it will be inside!

We are not having a buffet as shown above. This was for the tasting. I think the crusted chicken will be what we serve for daughter's wedding. It was like a fairy room. Soft little lights and wonderful center pieces on each table.
This is the table we sat at. These are her colors. She wants a deep pink table runner instead of the black and white one. Sorry I didn't take a better photo. It was a nice meal and it will be so pretty on their wedding day! I am so happy! She still hasn't found a florist and JP. Otherwise, almost everything is in place. She is very organized!

Tomorrow I'm working at the Vintage Cottage in Carver from 10-4....come see me!

Warmly,
deb
