Mini Projects & Shell Mantle

I thought this little birdhouse would look better "shabby"...before above
After above. Sorry it's on it's side. You get the idea! I just love this paper.
I decided to make a new valance for the kitchen window. I keep making them. One of these days, I'll have the perfect one! Since I don't really sew, the vintage linens work for me!
See my sea shells!  Thinking the mantle needs some tweeking with the shells now that I see it on my blog!  LOL! Anyone want to come over and help? Love the sea coral in the white vase.

We didn't do anything for the 4th. Stayed home, no fireworks, didn't grill. Walked the dogs and they love that. Went today too! Hubby is off the 5 days, so they are getting morning walks. Plus, it's much cooler.

Might go to the Trader's Market in Elko, MN tomorrow. Otherwise, pricing, sorting, and going thru our stuff!

Have a great weekend!

Hi Deb! Just stopped by to ask you if you are going to Traders tomorrow and here you have a new post.
I love the valance and the shells look pretty.
I also noticed that you added bloglovin' and since you said it was easy I gave it a try and yes, it was easy. (These changes drive me crazy tho...I just want to blog and not mess around with changes!)
Maybe I'll see you tomorrow! No more doors for me!!!

Hi Deb,
I love your seashell collection on the mantel. I also love the birdhouse. Sounds like a nice low key week end. I love those kind of holidays where you just go where the day takes you.

I really like your kitchen valance! I have 5 small windows in my kitchen, but it might be really fun to mix and match some retro curtains for the summer. I have some seashells, too. They are on the patio. I think you have inspired me to put them on the mantle this summer, maybe with my aqua canning jars! Yeah!

That birdhouse is adorable with that great paper on it! CUTE!! I love your mantel. I don't have a mantel in my new home either so I'm going to have to figure out a focal point! I'm excited about decorating, but must get unpack more first!

The birdhouse is too cute! And I love the valance. I've also been decorating with shells around here. Have you noticed how expensive they are now? Even at the goodwill they're pricing them really high! So weird.
I'm 95% sure we are heading to Elko in the morning too! Should be a hot one! Maybe we will see you there.

Okay, so I really need to know how to do that amazing valance! I have tons of vintage tablecloths that are screaming to be used for something other than tables:-)

Have a great weekend.

I never know where to go thrifting in the cities to look for bargains. Any suggestions near the Lakeville area?

Thanks for dropping by my place and adding your sweet comments. Absolutely adore the valance made from vintage fabric. I wish I could sew. My mom was a great seamstress. Your mantle is my favorite. I soooo want a sea cottage. I use my shells alot to decorate too.
