Update on Sisters Cancer

I talked with her this week and her chemo, pill form, will start on Thursday for 6 weeks. Then it is 6 weeks of radiation, I think!! I hope doing the chemo pill will be "easier" on her.  She is very positive. She is also keeping somethings to herself and won't share them. Please pray that her side effects are ZERO and that I can be of support to her and the family. She lives about a hour from me.

I have a duty day at Mainstreet Antiques this Saturday from 10-2 if anyone is in the area shopping! I've been a tad under the weather the last few days. Finally better today and now I need to do my Christmas cards and wrap a few gifts.  Grandgirl is coming over on Monday and we are decorating a gingerbread house. I wasn't sure that she still wanted to do this with me! Makes me happy!

Merry Christmas!

Name of Giveaway winner

I enjoyed each and every Christmas story. Thank you for sharing them. I'll tell you one of mine. I was/am a "peeker"....When I was in grade school,  I really want this Pink Poodle stuffed dog. It was almost as big as I was then.  I was "peeking" in my parents bedroom, in their closet and there was my Pink Poodle. I was so happy that I was going to get it. Christmas that year was a perfect.  I just shared that with my Mom  at the Christmas luncheon...

... anyway, these small gifts are going to:  ANNETTE at My Pinecone Cottage. Please email me with your addresses and I'll get it in the mail ASAP!

Swap Goodies & Gift for Someone!

I was in Eric's Christmas Kitchen Swap and my partner was Linda, from Ala Carte and the 3 photos above are the goodies I received. We were to make 2 items related to a Christmas kitchen, send a recipe and make a card or tag. Linda altered a vintage grader, cool, made an ornie and sent along lots of fun treasures. Love the vintage towel and icicles! THANK YOU, Linda! It was a great swap! Of course I always forget to take photos of what I sent to her, so you'll have to visit her blog!

I forgot to show you the desserts that were served at the Christmas Luncheon. 4 types of mini bundt cakes! YUM!! Lemon, red velvet, chocolate and a cranberry!!! Don't they look pretty on the plates!

I would like to send one of you these small Christmas goodies. I altered an putz house and ornie. Included a vintage hankie, chocolates, recipe book and kitchen towel.  How about telling me 1 of your favorite Christmas memories to be entered into the giveaway. I will pick a name on Sunday and get it in the mail on Monday!

THANK YOU SO MUCH for your prayers for my sister. Keep them coming!!! I'll update you on Sunday.

Christmas Lunch & Crafting & Prayer Request

I bought these darling little children's dishes last week at Ms. Mac's in Carver....just too cute and something I haven't ever seen...they are on my window ledge in the kitchen looking sweet.

Saturday was the Christmas Lunch at church and this is my table. There were 17 different table settings. We sang the old Christmas songs, talked about traditions, read the Christmas story from Luke, and a sweet young mom gave her testimony and we had a...

CANDY BAR...which was a great hit!

Also last week was the craft day at Tammy's home and this is what I made. Copied the shaker idea from Sandy's blog. The stars are from an idea that I saw 4 years ago and finally made them. It was a nice day at Tammy's.

Grandgirl won at the Ugly Christmas sweater party that she went to :)

I learned from my "baby" sister this weekend that she has  CANCER....she will have 6 weeks of chemo & radiation, surgery in March to remove the cancer and then more chemo. I would deeply appreciate any prayers for her and her family. She is 54 years old. Thank you so much.  I don't want to share too much. Details aren't important.

Last Weeks Fun

Last week grandgirl and I went shopping. She picked out her Christmas gifts and then we headed to the thrift store as she needs a "sweater" for an "Ugly Christmas Sweater" party that she is going to. We found the one above and added a "few" things...jingle bells across the top, mustache, felt ornies and a snowflake on her hat. It was a nice day with her. I don't get many days like that anymore...

The next day, Mom and I went to the Bachman Ideas Christmas house, yes that was visit number 2....then we had lunch. I know she enjoys time with me...hmmm...just like I enjoy time with my grandgirl....(is there a lesson in this?!!!)

Thanksgiving was nice and everyone was full. "SOME" had to wait for there treat! This is Chopper, my grand-dog...he is 9 years old now and getting gray. Always lovable and sweet!

Still, "others" had to take a nap after all the eating!!!

...little Sweet Peas nose...

So, daughter and I went out shopping on Thanksgiving evening...(don't judge!) and then again Friday morning. Almost all done with my shopping....

I also put up my tree and mantle decorations and will share that in the next post. Needs a little "tweaking". I went with "way less" this year along with my red. white and silver colors.

Plans for this week include, annual physical, craft day on Wednesday with Erica & Tammy, Thursday is fun day with a girlfriend who is now breast cancer free, Friday evening setting up tables for a Christmas Lunch at church and Saturday is the lunch. I will be hostessing a table and will take photos. We are having a "candy bar" too for the event.

I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving...

Working on Christmas Decor & Blogging Friends

Bought this wreath today at the new thrift store in my neighborhood and added the red/white bow and all the red/white bulbs...this will go on the front door the day after Thanksgiving!

My version of the Christmas lantern that I copied from pintrest. There's had a red lantern, but I could only find white. It's pretty big!

My new wood piece found it's perfect spot under my shutter shelf in the living room!

I bought this cute as can be, Snowman blow mold a month. I bought 2 and 1 is in a shop. I must stop buying CUTE!!

Friday Fun day with Faye and Linda. We went to Haupt occasional shop that is located in Apple Valley and it was decorated so awesome for this sale. I would recommend going there to be inspired and treasure hunting. Linda took us to a couple other shops and we had lunch out. Perfect fun day with friends!

I have my turkey and most of the food for our Thanksgiving day meal. Tomorrow I'm with Grandgirl, Tuesday taking my Mom to the Bachman Ideas house, you can't go too many times, LOL! and Wednesday is cleaning the house and last minute groceries...Friday is shopping with daughter for Christmas gifts and there is the week...

Friday Fun Day Finds & Chipping with Charm

Last Friday, hubby and I went antiquing. We went to the antique shop in Elk River...and that is where, Laurel from Chipping with Charm sells her treasures and she was there!!! She is a sweet heart!!!

I bought the red and green stemware. I need to find 2 more of the red. My colors to go with my plates. The figurines are from an estate sale.

More goodies from the estate sale. It was a 3 day sale and we went on the 1st and 3rd day. Last day was 1/2 off.  The lantern on the left was bought in Elk River. It's very heavy. I'm also having a lantern theme going on! LOL!!!

Guess what my colors are...right I already told you. Here is the beginning of the bulbs and such...
I bought this darling little tennis shoe when Sharon was here...it's too cute!!!

Tomorrow is my duty day at Mainstreet in Hopkins. 10-2 if anyone is in the area!

Going to meet up with more blogging friends on Friday! I sure enjoy having Fun time on Fridays!

I'll be cooking Thanksgiving lunch. Bought the turkey at Trader Joe's. Fresh and natural! I'm trying to eat "real" food without all the added fillers, hormones, etc....What are your plans...are you cooking the turkey?!

Blogging Friend Visit~ Sharon & Bachman Christmas House

Sharon arrived last Wednesday and Thursday morning, Linda, from Itsy Bits and Pieces,  came over and we all went to the Bachman Ideas house, Christmas Theme...it was pretty and we had great fun. We had lunch at Patrick's inside the Bachman store and SHOPPED! I didn't take any photos of the goodies purchased.

This is inside the Ideas House..I love the red and white theme and will be using those colors for my Christmas decor this year...Maybe I should dye my hair, BLONDE!!!

This room is inside the front porch and it's so cozy and sweet.

This is the formal dinning room. A little more elegant. Loving the lantern look!!

A child's bedroom....there are more rooms and photos...Linda is going to the Idea house and she takes much better photos. So, you can visit her blog soon and she all of the Bachman Ideas House.

Friday, Sharon and I went to a few antique shops in Hopkins and then on Saturday we crafted. Sharon made these cards and I made somethings for a swap..sorry, no photos of those... Sharon left a day early because of the "snow" storm that was happening on Monday. I'm sure I wore her out! We certainly had FUN!!!

Oops, Sharon made the doilie table runner for me! I love it! I was playing around with my truck and look who wanted to get in the photo...YES, I am thinking about CHRISTMAS!!! I went out yesterday and found the red/white and silver bulbs and I'm digging thru my bins to see what vintage items I'll be using for my decorating. I won't put up my Christmas until the day after Thanksgiving!!! Even tho I really want to!!

Have a great weekend! Hubby and I are having a Friday Fun day tomorrow...antiquing/eating out. I should be thinking about Thanksgiving instead of playing! LOL!
