My Baptism

It was an AWESOME Sunday morning! The church I am going to has immersion baptism and today I decided to be baptized. After meeting with one of the pastors and going to a "class"...today was the day.
Here I am making my statement of faith and why I want to be baptized.

I thought for sure I would cry while reading my faith statement...didn't. (My daughter took the photos with her cell phone)

Here is my statement of faith that I read:
I want to be baptized today because I Love Jesus.
I have accepted Him as my Lord and Savior.
I believe that he died on the cross for me and my sins.
I believe that God the Father created Heaven and Earth.
I believe that the Holy Spirit lives in me as a believer and helps me in my Christian walk.
I want to be baptized today because Jesus was. I want to show Him my love and commitment to Him and to the body of believer, my family and friends.

I just wanted to share with you my faith and my day!
Warmly,
deb

I need to clarify that baptism doesn't "save" you..."For it is by Grace you have been saved...it is the Gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast.  Eph 2: 8 & 9   A "gift" that you must accept!

Bless your sweet heart. This is wonderful. I remember when I was baptized. I was 10, I knew the Lord was the one I loved the most. My brother got baptized the same time. I tell him, there's still a dirt ring around the baptismal where he was dunked.:):) I am truly happy for you. xoxo,Susie

Thank you for sharing this with your readers since I believe that many Christians are hesitant to proclaim their beliefs openly. It's refreshing and what a wonderful example you've set for the rest of us to proclaim the Good News!

What a wonderful post! Glorious news! Blessings to you Deb, may your light shine before others and may you rejoice in this new life with Christ! In the Lutheran church, we do infant baptism, so I don't remember mine, but I mark the day every year.

Congrats Deb! I can't remember mine because in the catholic faith we do it as babies...Makes so much sense to be able to do it of your own volition!

Oh...What did you wear..Did you have to wreck your hair lol!

I so enjoyed this post! It means a lot to me that you shared it. The Lord is my Rock and my Salvation! God is so good! I was baptised in the Pacific Ocean with 100's of other people up and down the coastline. It was 1975. Wow! I was a kid!
