Wedding Cake tasting & Slim Pickin's at Sales

On Friday we tasted some yummy cakes. They decided on the "Pink Champagne" cake on the left. It's pretty, has a whipped cream middle and butter cream frosting. It's very light and not as sugary as the others. The cake will be square, 4 tiers tall and have black bling around each section. The top section will have their new initial of their last name. The price wasn't as bad as I had planned for. We will get a small groom's cake for "free" and she also wants those little cake balls for later in the evening and for the next day when the gifts are going to be opened. The florist was a "bust"...she didn't have any "ideas" and wasn't the gal that we talked to at the Bridal shower last fall. We'll find another one.

Hubby and I went to an estate sale and it was pretty much a "bust"....very slim pickins!!! I thought the bunnies would work for Easter crafts....anyway...I'm looking forward to garage sale season!

I sure hope all the snow is melted before Easter! I LOVE Easter and this year my birthday is the day before. That makes it extra special, I think!

Warmly,
deb

That cake looks yummy. Sorry the florist wasn't helpful. You'll find another. I'm sure.
Surely the snow will melt by Easter and your birthday. I love snow but I am ready to move into spring for sure. (((((HUGS)))))

That cake sounds perfect. Those Easter bunnies will be perfect for crafting. As much as I keep teasing that we will be ice skating through April, I'm holding hope for spring-like weather by Easter. How nice that you will have a birthday to celebrate too. My husband took me to a farm house estate sale last weekend. It was the first in MONTHS. Wonderful for the spirits!!

How fun to be planning a wedding! Estate sales have been a "bust" around here too. I went to one last weekend but they thought too much of their stuff! It was priced way too high!

Blessings

Hi Deb!
The cake looks yummy, at our local Acme they have icing that they call bettersweet and it is very good....it almost taste like a whipcream icing. We always get that because we don't like sweet icing either. I can't wait till it warms up, and the sales begin.

That sale couldn't have been too much of a bust if you found a Pink Daisy Space Saver!!

Hope things pick up for you soon. They are just starting to here.

Yummy cake...good choice; and by the way your mother-of-the-bride dress is very pretty! I like the pink dish you found at the garage sale.
I had fun today garage "saling", but the sun got a little too hot and had to come home!!!

That cake sounds yummy! I went to an estate sale today. It was a bust also. the house looked like it was from the 70's, metal cabinets in the kitchen. Picked up a few old christmas ornies. Nothin great. So looking forward to garage sale season.

Hi Deb, the cake looks and sounds delicious! Looks like some sweet finds even though the pickins were slim. Love the little bunnies and the pink pyrex.
Hope garage sale season is a good one this year.
Have a blessed Sunday.

Slim, Pickens! Here in my local thrift stores too, no garage sales yet but it is getting a little warmer. I think a lot more people are buying in thrift stores of late so there is competition in getting there early enough or people are holding on to their things. Spring cleaning where art though!
