Teacup Swap Reveal

I joined Stephanie's Teacup Swap and CINDY, from Consider It All Joy, sent me the very pretty teacup in the photo above. Pink and fuchsia are my colors!

Cindy also included a hanky, tea towel, vintage postcards, yummy chocolate treats, tea of course, note cards and crafting words. The word JOY is included. That is my favorite word:
 J=Jesus O=Others/Only and Y= you.

This swap is so much fun !! Sharing the love of teacups and getting to meet other gals is a bonus.

THANK YOU, Cindy for the pretty teacup and all extras!

Thank you, Stephanie for all the work you do to make this Teacup swap happen! I really appreciate it.

Halloween Mantel

Here is my mantel for Halloween. Vintage and cuteness is what it's about. I have vintage children's hats, gurley candles, paper mache pumpkin, hubby's candy toy witch on the motorcycle, nut cups, birthday angels, old books. and noise makers.

The leaves are wonderful. My son bought his first home and has been busy cleaning, painting etc.  I recently visited my girlfriend in Myrtle Beach for a few days.

I did the tea cup swap that Stephanie for The Enchanted Rose had and will be sharing that soon.

Remember I'm on instagram  #debs.earthly.delights

Hope you are all doing well. Happy Fall.

Booth Fluffing & Fall cards

I had my duty day last week at Antiques on Mainstreet. After my shift, time to fluff the booth and start adding fall treasures. Much more to come. I just need to price things.

Since FALL is my Favorite season, I made some cards. There were a couple of days that sure felt like fall. I can wait! Winter is way too long. This week the MN State Fair starts. We are going. Have to have my corn dog and cream puff! YUM.

I'm also thinking it's time to put up a little fall on my mantle. Hubby is taking next week off of work. Maybe we will just play all week!

Blogging Friends Craft Day

Last week, Debbie Kay came for a visit. On Friday, Tammy & Erica came over and we had a craft day. We had a fun time and made Christmas treasures. We are all on instagram now.

Debbie Kay blessed me with all of these goodies. She is very sweet and kind. This is the first time we met and it was like we have been friends for years. We have been blogging friends for 9 years. She lives in CA. We went to estate sales, antique shops, thrift stores, out to eat  and other fun shops.

Tammy came with some crafting goodies to go along with my huge Christmas stash that we used to make some Christmas treasures.

.

We made the spoolie girl and  Tammy had made the spun head, a mini cloche and fun Santa from a decal that Erica had. We scanned it so she could keep the original.  I haven't finished my Santa, he needs some embellishments.

Erica gave me this fire king cottage cheese bowl that I have wanted for awhile. I LOVE IT! and pretty washi tapes.

It was great fun with these girls who have very kind hearts! THANK YOU, Friends!

Seaside Mantel & Question

I just LOVE the ocean or to be at a lake. There is something about the water that is calming! Since I can't be at either...my seaside mantel will have to do! :)

The green and white fish is for appetizers. Isn't that sweet!

Full shot of the mantel. The lady on the fish I've had for a few years. She is a flower frog. No marking on her.

Do any of you remember "A Swap for All Seasons" blog? It was where we exchanged a card, tag and bits & bobs in a color of the swap. I have been thinking of having one for a few months, starting in August. I will do a special post at the end of the month that will have sign ups. Anyone interested???

I hope you are enjoying the summer. It's going by so fast!

AND... Debbie Kay is coming next week to visit! We have been blogging friends for 8 or 9 years. I will certainly take some photos of our time together.

Mantle for the 4th & Thoughts

Time to decorate the mantle for the 4th of July. It is fun to use new things and vintage treasures.
I made the wreath last year from bandanas. Old blocks are fun to use, vintage pop bottle, pyrex, coffee tin...just use what you have, even an old hankie!  Red, white and blue.

My thoughts about the recent act of violence...IT NEEDS TO STOP! Hate isn't from GOD. Hearts need to turn to Jesus! We can have our opinions, that is America! Hate breeds Hate and it's Time to LOVE, Be Kind, Do Good, Be Peaceful and PRAY!  Pray for those in charge! They need Wisdom from God!

Recent Finds & Pretty papers

You guys know that I love linens. Bought these at a garage sale. The toy cake carrier I bought at an antique shop for a few dollars.

Pretty new papers to make cards, one of these days.  I have to be in the "mood" to craft.

Vintage flower seed packets are so cool. I just love the old graphics on them.

The sun has been making an appearance the last couple of days.Hooray! Much yard work to do.

Let's enjoy these spring days. Summer is just around the corner!

Mother's Day Tea party

Come and pick a hat for the tea...there are many to pick from

You can be a Queen in this photo op.  One of the very talented gals made this. The theme was
The Queen's Tea.

This table is lovely with fresh lilacs.

Vintage luncheon plates were used here!

Pretty blue and white theme here with bluebirds.

Alice in wonderland is the theme at this table.

There were 19 tables this year. Our speaker spoke of how each teacup is unique and has it's own design and style. Just like how God created us. We are also to share our gift of hospitality. Sharing a cup of tea is a perfect way to do that.

I hope you all had a nice Mom's day. I made an egg bake and had brunch here. After we ate, we sat on the deck and enjoyed the afternoon. It was a very nice day.

Which table do you think I set???

This and That

Flowers left over from a funeral at church and I was blessed to bring them home! HAPPY MAY DAY....a few days late!

Next Saturday is the Tea at church. Theme: Tea with the Queen and I made this for the event. I may redo because the word Crown is a tad off.  I will certainly take photos of some of the table settings. There are 19 tables this year. I will be setting only 1 table this time.

Had a work day at the shop and a guy came in to sell some things. I bought these "OLD" pool balls. They MAY be Bakelite. They are kinda fun and I may keep them for awhile.

The weather is finally AWESOME! Of course that means lawn work time :)  I have allergies suddenly...ugh...guess one is never too old to have them.

In a couple of weeks, having my yearly garage sale. If you are in the area, email me and I will give you all the details!

New Looking for the Dining area

I painted the dining area and kitchen the same color of the living room & hallway. Light and bright all through the house.  I love my vintage pieces on the wall.

It's almost Easter, my favorite holiday. I will make ham, cheesy potatoes, veggie and strawberry shortcake for dessert. Eating dinner as daughter works until 6PM on Easter. Are you ready for Easter?

Easter Mantel & a little more

Easter is coming and here is my Easter mantel. This year is super simple. I am going with less and enjoying it. I am doing the study that Bible Study Fellowship offers and it's on John this year. Thank you Jesus for dying on the cross for the sins of mankind, (me). It was a HORRIBLE death...

I did put up my little old stuffed bunny collection. I found a couple more in my boxes after this photo.

Does anyone remember getting cottage cheese in these containers??? I DO!  I loved that as a kid. I have  purchases  these 4 over the years. Sweet memories!

My next post I will show you my dining area makeover.

Handmade Easter Cards

Here are some of the Easter cards that I recently made.  I am slowly decorating for Easter. My mantel will be Easter-fied soon.

I've  patched the walls in the dining room & kitchen. I was going to paint today, but that didn't happen. I'm waiting for more sunshine and warmer days.

I joined Stephanie's teacup swap. She had over 200 gals sign up! WOW~ !!! The swap is closed now.

Daylight savings starts tonight. I like having the sun up later, not a fan of losing the hour.

Starting Easter cards & Thank you

I was making Easter cards today. I'm getting an early start this time! Easter is my very favorite holiday and this year my birthday is a few days after Easter. I love that!

These cuties are from Paintin Patti. She is so thoughtful to send me some sweet Valentine luv. I am behind in THANKING her! THANK YOU, Patti!!!

I sure enjoyed the warm weather we had, now it's bad to winter.

I need an estate sale fix. Hubby works on Saturday, so we can't go first day to the sales.Lately there haven't been any GOOD sales, so I guess we aren't missing too many treasures!

Remember you can find me on instagram #debs_earthly_delights.  I still don't know how to get you there from here! LOL!

I will be painting my dining area and kitchen in March. I'm going to use the same color that I painted the living room. I will take photos of the before and after. It won't be for awhile as I haven't started painting.

Valentine Snail mail

I received Valentine snail mail from Sandy at 521 Lake Street. It is always a great day when someone sends a package with love and gifties. The felt heart is so sweet! Sandy made the glittered heart and the LOVE on the straw. I'm not sure if they have a name for that. THANK YOU, Sandy.

Sandy doesn't blog anymore. She does read blogs. We have been friends for a FEW years and met through blogging. She had been to my home for a visit. It's my plan to visit her within the next year or 2. She lives in AZ so, it will be a winter visit, at least from my end!

Once again it's time to decorate the mantel for Valentine's Day. I have 4 sweet valentine planters, 2 old valentine card boxes and 3 vintage valentine candy boxes. I do have more candy boxes, however using these this time. I really need to get going on making my valentine cards.

I will be posting LESS on my blog.  No pressure to follow me there.

My Word for 2017

Sometimes I find my words and actions unkind. Being kind to one another should be so easy. A smile to a stranger, opening the door for someone, sending a note to a friend, calling your Mom (one I need to do more often), calling a friend, making a meal for someone the list could go on and on.

With the shooting just hours ago at an airport in Florida with 5 dead and 8 injured, KINDNESS certainly is needed.

Did you choose a word this year!?

deb
