This and That

Flowers left over from a funeral at church and I was blessed to bring them home! HAPPY MAY DAY....a few days late!

Next Saturday is the Tea at church. Theme: Tea with the Queen and I made this for the event. I may redo because the word Crown is a tad off.  I will certainly take photos of some of the table settings. There are 19 tables this year. I will be setting only 1 table this time.

Had a work day at the shop and a guy came in to sell some things. I bought these "OLD" pool balls. They MAY be Bakelite. They are kinda fun and I may keep them for awhile.

The weather is finally AWESOME! Of course that means lawn work time :)  I have allergies suddenly...ugh...guess one is never too old to have them.

In a couple of weeks, having my yearly garage sale. If you are in the area, email me and I will give you all the details!

Deb, The pollens are high, might be why you are having allergies. I have notice I have been a bit sniffy lately. We just had over a week of rain and the weatherman said the pollens will jump right back up. Love the old pool balls. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

Those flowers certainly ARE beautiful...
and what a lovely theme for the Tea!
I'll look forward to seeing photos of the tables.
Hoping the rain here is over.
We've had too much for too long, it seems.
Have a peaceful Saturday.

What beautiful flowers, Deb, and I love the theme of your tea party at church. I'm looking forward to seeing all the pretty decorated table.
Happy weekend to you!

I wish that I lived close enough to attend your garage sale. The tea sounds like fun, when I was working I use to organize a yearly Mother's Day Tea where I adopted out tables to be decorated. Out of eighteen tables in our dinning room I never had enough people to adopt all of them, so I started collecting tea posts, tea cups, cloth napkins and table clothes. The ones that didn't get adopted by daughters and friends, I did myself. It was always so pretty when all the tables were done. We had a voting for the pretties tables and prizes for the winners. I miss my job as an activities director . . . I had a ball. Retirement is nice, too.
Wishing you a wonderful joy filled week.
Connie :)

Looking forward to seeing photos of all of the tea tables. I know yours will be great. Love your header - of course, I'm such a button fiend.

This made me smile because with my husband being a pastor, he has officiated over many funerals through the years. He would always bring me flowers home that the family offered him. Some people thought this was 'gruesome' but I loved it -- I didn't care where the flowers came from! Money was often tight so we also always refered to the money he got paid for doing a funeral as the 'funeral money'. Often that has gone to buy a new suit or dress shoes or shirt for him or something me or the kids needed. So our kids grew up telling people, 'this is my funeral dress' or 'these are dad's funeral shoes'. They would ask my kids what funeral they were going to and my kids would say, 'oh there's no funeral' leaving people very confused!

Hi Deb, lovely funeral flowers! Your chalk board art is beautiful. Looking forward to seeing the tea tables again. Great buy on the pool balls.
Hope your allergies get better. I've had a bit of allergies this season too. Usually hits me with a migraine. No fun! Have a great rest of the weekend. xo

I wish I could come to your upcoming garage sale Deb! I would if I wasn't so far away lol! Lord knows I need to have one myself though! Those pool balls you recently bought bring back fun memories from my teen years, since my husband's family had a game room back in the day, we hung out there most of the time and spent a lot of time playing pool there :)
Before I forget, I love your chalkboard sign!
I hope you have a Happy Mother's Day!

P.S. I would love to see that quilt that your grandma made should post pics of it here at your blog sometime!

I recently brought home altar flowers. I had them in church April 30th in memory of Linda's birthday. We both had April birthdays, so it was for both of us. That little chalkboard is perfect!
